"We had used John who is the owner of this business for many years. About 7 years ago he failed to report income and we had to pay a penalty. We chalked this up to human error and stayed with his company. Big mistake. In 2016, he again failed to report pension income which had not changed in 12 years!! Al he had to do was to check his records from previous years but he does not keep any previous returns. THE IRS IS VERY CLEAR THAT BY LAW ALL RECORDS MUST BE KEPT FOR 3 YEARS BY THE PREPARER! Since 2016 we have paid over $30,000 in interest and late fees to compensate for John Chalowins mistake and incompetence. Of course we are now with an accountant who is competent. I urge anyone still using this business to check their returns over and over and to be on high alert. John is not approved by the Better Business Bureau!!"
