"Terrible location. Wanted to get our dog checked as we thought she ate something and it was stuck in the intestines since she kept throwing up and couldn't hold water down. Had stated we just want some xrays, blood work and fluids. We had called on 1/7/24 around 3pm, this location informed us they couldn't help us. Not that they were busy, that they couldn't help. Which is odd as they are an emergency vet location. We then showed up there at 7pm to check again, they informed us the vet was in surgery and again, they couldn't help. We stated we would wait or come back after vet was done seeing the next animal. Front desk stated they wouldn't be able to help and "good luck". This was in the middle of a snow storm when roads were not great and we got about 11-12 inches. We had to drive to the next location in Brewster. When we called Brewster, they were AMAZING and shocked on how the Middletown location turned us away. If we had not gone to Brewster, in a snow storm, our dog may have not survived as something was obstructed in the intestines and she needed fluids as she was extremely dehydrated. I would NEVER recommend this location as the receptionist was rude and they clearly did not want to see our dog in an emergency situation with no plausible reason. They are an emergency vet location for a reason, they should not be turning us away when they are not busy. It seems to me these people wanted to leave and not be stuck there with the weather. They are suppose to be open 24 hours on a Sunday, we would have come back anytime. I would give zero stars if I could."
"I would leave no stars if possible After bringing my cat in on a Sunday evening with vomiting and diarrhea. They took blood work and sent us home with an antibiotic. Now four days later I'm back at another vet who took better care of our cat in 1 hour then in the 6 hours we were there. Terrible place"
"DO NOT GO HERE!!! PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY SCAM! I took my wheezing puppy here and they immediately took my puppy into the back and came into the room trying to get me sign a paper stating it was going to be $1200 minimum for oxygen. Refused to give me my puppy back until I screamed cried and begged. Made me pay $170 to get her back. I called on the phone before going and they told me $215, then claimed we never spoke to them. It was WORSE THAN A NIGHTMARE!"
"We took our 70 lb bully here after he was attacked by another dog while out on a walk. He had several severe bites and lacerations that required immediate care and stitches. He abides the vet so can be quite difficult to handle, so much so that several vets refused to handle him in the past even after sedation. But not this team! They did a wonderful job with our boy the night of the attack as well as over our subsequent follow up visits to remove the sutures, etc. We are very grateful for the patience, compassion, and grace this team showed! Shout out to all the vets, techs, and admin personnel."
"We visited Guardian Veterinary on Sunday May 7, 2023 because our 17 year old chihuahua was in pain from her bladder cancer and needed to be put to sleep. I can’t say enough about how caring and compassionate the staff was during this difficult time. They treated our dog so tenderly and made her final moments as comfortable as possible. They let us take as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes both before putting her to sleep and after. I was thoroughly impressed with the beautiful urn and keepsake paw print box with a slot to put her picture we received with the private cremation package. My reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because they misspelled her name (Love) on the certificate of cremation paperwork despite me writing it correctly (Luv) on the office paperwork."
