The Ravine

Located on East 103rd Street in New York City, The Ravine is a popular park and tourist attraction within Central Park. This beautiful landscape is part of the North Woods, the largest woodland area in Central Park. The Ravine features a long, narrow watercourse called the Loch, which is known for its three picturesque waterfalls. Paths on both sides of the Loch offer stunning views of the water, providing a peaceful escape from the surrounding cityscape.

Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the Ravine evokes the wilderness of the Adirondacks with its meandering paths, dense canopy of trees, and cascading waterfalls. This tranquil spot is perfect for birdwatching and nature observation. The Ravine was carefully designed and built to provide urban dwellers access to nature in the middle of a bustling city.

Visitors can enjoy the rustic stone arches and cascades at the entrances to the Ravine, including Glen Span Arch and cascade on the west side, and Huddlestone Arch and cascade on the east side. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a place to explore with your family, The Ravine offers something for everyone.

Support the Central Park Conservancy in keeping this beautiful landscape vibrant and well-maintained by making a donation today. Whether you're visiting for a concert, a leisurely stroll, or simply to enjoy the beauty of nature, The Ravine is the perfect destination for a weekend in Central Park. Engage your senses, calm your mind, and immerse yourself in the greenery of this stunning woodland landscape.

"Pretty waterfall but no grassy areas to sit near it. Better for walking along than a picnic"

"I found out they have been over charging a family member for an entire year, the rate she’s been paying is for an upgraded unit, and they haven’t as much as gave her a new carpet… and heard they pay ppl to give good reviews."
