"Working with Jacqueline was very straightforward and fun! She helped us choreograph our first dance and kept it super simple, as neither my husband and I are dancers in any sense of the word. Our guests enjoyed our dance and we definitely wowed everyone with two lifts! I think the best part about going to this dance studio over others was the convenience, privacy and the transparency. The studio is located not too far from where my husband works and where I go for my PT, so it was always an easy trip over. I also do like that lessons only happened with one couple at a time; I would never feel comfortable dancing with other people around. And lastly I do appreciate Jacqueline’s transparency with how many lessons we needed. Originally, I had expected to need to pay for 8 lessons, as neither my husband or I are experienced dancers. But after the first lesson, Jacqueline told us that we’d probably only need 3 lessons max. That took off a chunk of what I thought we’d need to spend on dance lessons, which is pretty awesome! I would definitely recommend this vendor for NYC-based couples."

She created a beautiful routine for us, and every session has resulted in specific and actionable feedback to make our dance look better and better, whether it’s arm placement or how to transfer weight between partners during a lift. "We took 5 lessons with Gail to put together our wedding First Dance. We had reached out to multiple dance instructors and it was clear from our initial call that Gail was the right one for us. She's very patient and friendly - we enjoyed all of our lessons. Some of our friends told us that non-wedding dance instructors can be too ambitious when putting together first dances. Gail, on the other hand, definitely is an expert on putting together wedding first dances. She was able to advise us on how long the dance should be, adding some level of complexity but keeping it easy, and choreographed the whole dance. We didn't want to look overly choreographed and wanted something that was us and fun. James was incredible and really listened to what we wanted our first dance to be like and helped us make it us. NY Wedding Dance even has a mock wedding dress to practice so I could get the feel for what it would be like on the big day.
