"I was referred by a friend and I went to the Fordham Road location. I was greeted professionally by the receptionist and it started well. Once I sat down with Mr. Twitty I thought it was going to be a good experience. He was very condescending, dismissive and discouraging. After sitting for less than 15 minutes with him, he said he was done. I was shocked it was so fast especially since this was my first time. I had to inquire from him if he needed my information, my grandchildren's info, my bank info. He made a discouraging comment about me filing with my grands. Not knowing if I have custody of them or not. He seemed agitated when I asked him a question; he made me feel very intimidated. I was taken aback by his service and fee of $351. When I asked if I could pay the fee out of my refund he mainly encouraged that I pay out my own pocket due to additional fees. I just couldn't pull $351 out my pocket. So when I said that I didn't expect the fee to be $351, he slammed the folder closed and told me to think about it and basically held my paperwork hostage. When I asked him what the refund amount would be he didn't give me a straight answer, he gave me an estimate "its about $3000". I ended up calling him right back after I left to say just take the fee out my refund. In my gut, I felt something wasn't right. I sat on these feelings for 2 days and then called in my complaint. The manager was very helpful and gave me the main office number to file my complaint. I spoke with the head person and he was a pleasure to talk with. He listened with concern and was very apologetic. By the next business day I received a call from Amy the Manager and she informed me that she filed an amendment and so my gut instinct was right. She fixed my return and an additional $8K plus was missing from my return because of Mr. Twitty's negative disposition. This company promptly adressed my issues/concerns and corrected the mistake made. That is what made me give an extra two stars on this review. I would only recommend this tax service to others once that person who handled my filing retires. I wouldn't want anyone I refer to deal with the mistakes, unpleasantness and inconvenience."
