"Today I had the displeasure of entering the H&R Block located at 914 Prospect Ave, E 162nd St, The Bronx, NY 10459. I entered this location to file a claim, as recommended by an H&R Block customer service agent. I spoke to a tax specialist named Kris D. Kris explained the process for filing a claim. I gave him the requested documentation. Kris simply placed the documents on a pile of papers and told me he would call me once the claim was entered. I asked Kris if he could provide me with a timeframe for when the claim would be submitted because he did not offer me a receipt, a claim number, or any evidence as a means of recourse to prove he was submitting a claim on my behalf. Kris became irate and indignant. His response to my inquiry was, “You can’t ask me that. I told you I would give you a call.” I was shocked by his response. Usually when a business performs a service, it is standard to provide a window period of when the service will be accomplished. I explained to Kris that my question was a standard inquiry. For example, if a customer deposits a check in a bank and asks when the check will clear, the bank representative will provide a window period such as 2-3 business days, etc. Kris insisted I could not ask him to provide me with a timeframe for when he would enter the claim. I could not believe the level of unprofessionalism Kris so willingly exhibited. By far, this was the most unpleasant customer service experience I have encountered in a financial setting. I went to another branch located on 517 E 138th St, Bronx, NY 10454. While they were unable to help resolve my issue, the workers at this location were courteous, patient, and professional. I would NOT frequent the H&R Block located at 914 Prospect Ave, E 162nd St, The Bronx, NY 10459. I was told Kris D was the owner of this location. I will be contacting corporate as well, as I do believe it is a standard business practice to offer clients a timeframe for services rendered. H&R Block is an amazing company. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this location due to the lack of professionalsim."

"Where to begin! 2016 tax return was a head. Tax preparer Ms. Lois Brown totally messed up our state taxes. We lived in NYS partial during 2016 but she placed us as full residency instead. We didn’t know until it was late. Now 2017 we filed a IT 203 partial residency form with the right Documentation. We was told to mail it ourselves. Now both 2016 and 2017 we added the Peace of Mind in care HR Block made an error on our taxes (which they did). My wife and I just found out NYS taxes never received our IT 203 with the proper documentation. We waited 3 months for an answer! Now we was told we have to redo everything!!! The Peace Of Mind states our tax preparer has to do all the work for us. This is bad customer service!!! We need our NY state tax for 2016 we it’s owed to us. It’s ironic how we received our 2017 NY state income tax but not 2016. Where is the logic with this scenio? We are moving in a week and was depending on our money. I want to hold HR Block responsible for the headache and emotional distress they caused. Will be hiring a lawyer."
