Reviews of 1060 Obstetrics & Gynecology
"EDIT: When our son turned 1, we learned we needed to have corrective surgery for a condition called hypospadias. Usually if the doctor sees this, they do not perform the circumcision and it is delayed to at least 6 months of age so they then use the foreskin to fix the issues. Not only did the pediatrics at Lenox fail to assess our son properly but Dr. Ng completely messed up our son’s circumcision according to the pediatric urologist and surgeons. Apparently, the circumcision was done so poorly that it seemed to them that someone who didn’t know what they were doing did it. The anxiety and trauma that this whole thing caused is so miserable and makes me regret the whole decision to deliver at this hospital with this team. I don’t understand how pediatrics at Lenox gave the green light to have the circumcision. The doctors here are great for anything gynae related, but it’s insane that any doctor but a pediatric surgeon touch your son’s genitals. So please remember that when you choose this practice. Initial post: Wonderful doctors, very supportive practice. First of all, I’d always see the doctors on time here, rarely ever any waiting time. All the doctors are extremely knowledgeable, empathetic and answer all your questions. I saw Dr. DiGregorio the most during my routine visits and she was great. Super relaxed to talk to, always answered my questions, and gave off a very cool/calm vibe. She even checked on me after delivery while I was in the recovery room at the hospital. She was always prompt to respond to queries via the portal too. Dr. Elliston delivered my baby, and it was such a lovely experience having her. I can’t say enough good things about her. Even during my check ups, she was extremely thorough, warm, personable, empathetic and gave as much time as we needed, never made us feel rushed. My labor was long, and she was patient, and she always gave us options and let us make the decisions. She was super empathetic and also very supportive of what we wanted. She even impressed my doula with the knowledge she had regarding positions to help with baby’s descent. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience having her. I only met Dr. Ng twice, once for a checkup and once at the hospital. She did my son’s circumcision and she did a fine job! She was extremely sweet and warm when we met her at our check up, and even when I saw her in the recovery room - she was super understanding of how I was feeling, providing whatever we needed at the time. I met Dr. DiSturco about two times and she was on call when I went into labor. When I was uncomfortable during a cervical check, she immediately stopped and told me we didn’t have to proceed. That was very encouraging to know, that she put my comfort as a priority. She was also very sweet when we spoke to her when we called once contractions started. All the doctors at this practice were great. They deliver at Lenox, and the nurses in L & D were mostly great. The ones in the recovery room were hit or miss. It is a teaching hospital which i guess most NY hospitals are, so there were times when residents would come in during the middle of the night and ask questions that you’d wish they came during the day for. During the recovery period, that was quite annoying esp since we were lacking sleep. So the only downside to my experience was the hospital itself. I had a bad experience at the triage one night when I went before labor too. And I was told the day I’m in labor I wouldn’t have to go through the triage and would be admitted directly, that didn’t happen, and I couldn’t have my support person during the cervical check and all. That was a little misguiding. But overall, I want to give my whole experience with the practice a super thumbs up!"
"I have such a big love and respect to this office. Its a clean, well organized, well equipped place. I especially love dr.Ng, she is a great professional , very kind, very thoughtful. I recommend her to all of my friends. I had 2 babies with Dr.NG and it was such a smooth experience. I am endlessly grateful!"
"1060 OBGYN is the best OBGYN practice I have been to! Dr. DiSturco is the most incredible doctor. Not only is she super empathic and calming towards her patients, she is also extremely thorough to a point that you feel so comfortable with her you don't even realize you're at a doctors office. I recommend 1060 OBGYN to anyone who asks me where I go!"
"Had one of the worst experience with 1060 ObGyn clinic over the phone on Monday, May 15th. I haven't been in person and already considering spending my money somewhere else. I tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 10th and was told by the ER that I can returned to work on 05/15. According to the CDC, you only need to quarantine for 5 days period. I had no fever since Thursday night May 11th, but the clinic insisted that I show them a negative COVID-19 test in order to be seen or wait 14 days. The issue is that some people tests positive even 20 days after an infection. At first I was told they will not be able to see me until I show them a negative test, then today, I have to wait 14 days. I never refused to not wear a mask. I haven't had my first ObGyn visit and I'm already 8 weeks. Can you imagine MSKCC telling a cancer patient that was diagnosed with COVID-19 5 days ago that they can't get treatment because other patients are important? I also received a email stating that they made several attempts to call me. When it wasn't true, I was placed on hold with the most agitated Beethoven symphony 5 in c minor. So, I had to wait on hold to be sent to a voicemail. Update: I called them today to let them know that I continue to test positive with no symptoms (meaning no fever) and I cleared my throat. The manager of the facility (Tracy) laughed. I asked if the patients wear mask at the office and she said it's optional. Seems a bit conflicting since they have such strict rules. Mask aren't mandated and they don't test before their appointment either. Again, I never refused to not wear a mask. To make matters worst she schlepped me to a different clinic by recommending me to a different office that is not affiliated to them at all. Then she said I have to wait the 14 days from May 10th and that the next upcoming appointment wouldn't be until June. Talk about treating a pregnancy with zero concerns. I called the place she recommended and they happily gave me an appointment despite the fact that I explained my diagnosis. The other location was more attentive, caring and was concern about my pregnancy and baby's health. They did not treat me like I had leprosy. I never felt more humiliated in my life. The worst experience."
"I cannot recommend this practice enough! I am so happy to have found 1060 after a not so great experience elsewhere. The offices are very nice and clean. The office staff are very professional and efficient. I was very happy with my prenatal care. They predicted my baby’s weight accurately and they did regular ultrasounds. Dr. Elliston helped deliver my baby and she was so awesome! I had a very positive natural hospital birth and I was never pressured to do anything I didn’t feel comfortable with. She of course explained everything so well and always kept safety in mind. All of the doctors and the nurse practitioner in this practice are personable, professional, kind, skilled and knowledgeable!"
