"Had a horrible experience with Dr. Stein. I’ve taken my dog to his clinic since we moved to the neighborhood and he was great until he wasn’t. He got very defensive when I called to make an appointment for a dental procedure to go over the medication state & status of my dog, as he has a history of arthritis and a knee surgery in the recent past. The receptionist told me she will make note of it, and if anything should be notified they would give me a call back. Not sure if there was a miscommunication but when Dr. Stein called, he was very defensive asking ‘why’ I called him and asked what the problem was. I was confused to what he was referring to as I never requested a call back — thought he could be asking about the tooth fracture, but the conversation lead to why was I putting my dog on Prozac (my dog is reactive, and it was his clinic that put my dog on it for the first time). He went on and said that this is my dog(?) and that he has never forced me to to put my dog on Prozac? The conversation should’ve been about the dental procedure, not about Prozac as it wasn’t the main focus what so ever. I’m not sure why he called in such a toxic mannerism making me feel extremely uncomfortable, which lead me to believe that he would blame his client/patients for any future results and I could not trust his service moving forward. Dr. Stein was extremely empathetic when I first brought my dog in when he tore his ACL, but after this phone call and I saw a side of him that I would never trust my dog with. I hate that I would no longer be returning to his clinic as his staff were extremely kind and loving."

"I cannot recommend this clinic enough. We unfortunately were dealing with our cats cancer and the care that was given to us by Dr. Stein and at the front desk was amazing. Even though we only visited this clinic three times with our sweet cat Jasper, after he passed we received a sympathy card with personal notes from every employee. Above and beyond!"

"I brought my dog in for her annual visit and the staff was amazing! The vet tech was super sweet and very gentle with her. Dr Stein is amazing! He’s very transparent and always answers any questions I have pertaining my dog. He’s also very attentive through email when I have certain concerns and not able to bring her in. This is the second time I bring her here and it’s always a great experience!"

"Austin is a very reliable, patient, and caring veterinarian with a welcoming and convenient practice. I have a German Shepard mix, Mango, who loves to eat things she’s not supposed to eat. Due to her penchant for plastic, I’ve had to take her here for upset tummies and the like. Each time, Austin has been very kind and professional. He’s efficient and honest with his communication, which I find very reassuring during times of uncertainty. I’ve been able to come in without an appointment with a very reasonable wait time. The snacks for humans in the waiting room is also a very nice touch. I’m glad to see this clinic transform into such a staple in Greenpoint since it first opened!"

"Dr. Stein is an incredible doctor, I’ve been a client of his since he was at his previous clinic and I recently got a puppy who was pretty sick and GVC was able to fit us in the same day. There’s an additional work-in fee but it’s absolutely worth it when you know it isn’t emergency room worthy but still urgent enough to warrant same day treatment. Dr. Stein is thorough, caring, and efficient…everything and more you can ask for in a doctor. Joyce, his assistant is extremely sweet and patient as well. Thank you for taking care of my baby boy! ☺️"
