"Damien, who is 3.5 years old, goes 2-4 days a week, and I must say, the staff is sooo wonderful with him!!! I was a little hesitant to sign him up, being that he’s a wild child and has a tendency of doing his own thing, but Heather and ALL of the instructors are so patient and encouraging! I was amazed at how great, not only how they were/are with him, but with how he responds to them! As a bonus Damien’s dad gets to join in and help with encouraging his success! I love how the parents are able to get on the mat and work with them! As a result, his dad also signed up, and LOVES it! SMA of Howell is our new family, and we LOVE IT!"

"It started with my son, now my whole family trains here! The school has a great family atmosphere and there are a number of other families that train at the school as well that love it just as much as we do. As an adult I get to train with good friends and my family. Our kids get valuable lessons on how to be their best while they get a workout where they are engaged, encouraged, and are always surrounded by people that believe in them. Our kids also gain leadership skills, including the ability to come out of their shell and be a confident leader themselves by demonstrating technique, leading the class in the student creeds, and individual and group performances, to name a few. The Sensei's and instructors all lead by example and are fantastic role models not just for the kids, but for everyone. I highly recommend this school, whether you are a single adult or a full family. We all love it here!"

"My 8-yr old grandson has been going to SMA Howell for the past 18 months...it has been so good for him as he learns discipline and karate in a positive environment...the staff is like family, but holds to a very professional standard. I would highly recommend this school to anyone, no matter the age. The older students often reach out to help the younger ones, which presents a positive role model for the younger students. The staff takes a personal interest in the students as well, which makes the children feel comfortable."
