"The old Newtown Karate School with Master Drumm was wonderful. We have been going there for 4 years. With the recent change of the ownership everything went downhill - the prices went up, the instructors change often, they keep changing the schedule that is hard for parents to follow. The number of available classes are very limited. And they moved from the Newtown location to Richboro. Neither kids nor patents are enjoying it."

"Update Oct 2022: Shin Karate recently bought out NKA. There is definitely more structure and an emphasis in perfecting the techniques, which is great. Instructors are also teaching the Korean names of the forms and simple phrases in Korean. Another good change is the computer sign in versus paper card sign in. Definitely prevents cards from getting lost. Would still highly recommend this place! Love this school!! We registered our oldest son in karate last October since he lacks confidence and we wanted him to learn self defense. After 10 months of practices, his confidence grew tremendously and he learns skills of self defense. He is a green belt now. I love how the instructors are patient with the kids, and know when they can push kids to their limit. We recently enrolled our youngest son and he is doing great as well! I am so happy that my NextDoor neighbors recommended this place to me. This school is a gem!"

"My kids love Newtown Karate Academy! My 4 year old son has grown so much in confidence and focus since he started classes in September. My 7 year old daughter started last month, and she loves her classes too. You get to go to two classes each week, and the schedules are flexible. You don’t have to come to class on the same day each week. For example, my son can choose to go to class on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday. The flexibility is awesome! The teachers really care about the students, and they make the classes fun! The kids learn karate skills, but they also learn life skills. They learn about confidence and strength when facing a bully or facing any kind of challenge. Newtown Karate Academy is an amazing school! I would recommend it to everyone!"

"Excellent school and program. Great for kids of all ages and adults too. This is more than a great athletic discipline as the school teaches principles of character as well as the technique and skill of Tang Soo Do. The owners are very, very good, extremely focused on each student's development but they also weave the responsibility of each student to help others who are learning. I love that they offer multiple classes per week and you enroll for a set # of classes which the student can take multiple classes per week and advance quickly. Its a real martial arts community with fun events for the students around holidays like Halloween and Christmas/End of Year as well as major black belt completion events where students who aspire to become black belts can watch, learn and be inspired. Also hold fun day camps on school holidays for students who want to spend extended time working on skills and spend time with other students and student instructors to improve and practice. This has been a GREAT experience for our family!"
