"One of the best in the area for the price point. Genuinely can't hate on them. Only complaint would be the lack of access to the bathrooms on the second floor and other general maintenance, but I understand that repairs can take a while. Best of luck to the staff, keep up the good work."
"I just attended the worst spin class I've ever been to and it was led by Wellington. He started the class asking if anyone had any medical conditions or was new to spin which was good and considerate. But then he said something to the effect of, in my class I expect you to follow my cues; if you don't, I will ask you to leave. No one has any medical conditions that they stated so everyone should follow my cues. I was taken aback. What kind of instructor wouldn't permit someone to take the class at their own pace according to their own abilities. You don't have to have a medical condition to need to scale back a workout. And not to mention his cues were done very poorly. At one point we were doing jumps on the bike and he gave very little warning for the jump transition. He gave little warning for any of the transitions throughout the class. He also had us spin at 20 rpm, which is incredibly slow for like two 7 minute songs. It was challenging to even find a high enough resistance that would allow me to go that slow. I will not be back to this class and I would not recommend someone go to it. The only reason I've left more than one star is because the gym overall is fine."
"Pamela is an excellent instructor motivates me and I hope she would be teaching in more cycling classes in 91 st New York City"
"I love this club. It’s down to earth, has a lot of classes, and super convenient. They are also responsive to members. Instructor are friendly and give great classes. Bonus is it’s less expensive than many clubs around here, but you get just as much at NYSC without the attitude or cost of other clubs!"
"Always too busy, pool closed "due to covid" and they're too cheap to open it back up. They got rid of a bunch of machines in the summer to create "floor space" and now YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE FOR A TREADMILL. In one week, I had to wait 3 times in line, once for literally 20 minutes in a line 5 people long. As I write this, EVERY CARDIO MACHINE IS CURRENTLY TAKEN (there are so few). Barely any AC in the summer. Weight machines are old and sometimes break. Also, dumbbells are in a room that has classes or is rented out to other groups, so often you can't even use a dumbbell. Sometimes they run out of towels and cleansing wipes. Machines get taken up. Too expensive for all this cost cutting they do. I wish there were more gyms in the area, it's really the only reason I stay. Oh and for this less than basic gym, you HAVE to pay the elite membership price. To be fair, here are the good things about the gym: nice staff, sauna"
