"They charge you the entire semester tuition up front. You have to sign a contract saying you forfeit that money if you leave for any reason. So if your child doesn’t like it, and doesn’t want to continue, you lose your money. If a life change happens, like a move or a job change, you lose your money. They tell you this up front, and since we were new to the area, we just assumed that’s how it’s done in NJ. This would have been the 5th studio we’ve danced at over the years, we’ve never had to pay up front, it’s always been monthly. Turns out, this is not how it’s done in most other NJ studios. This is very out of the norm. We unfortunately had to quit before the season even started bc of a job change/timings, and we will not be seeing that almost $2,000. I went in knowing this so it’s my fault for signing up at such a studio. But we did not foresee this life change, and the result is really disappointing and strikes us as unnecessarily greedy."
