"Not reputable. Put a deposit on a motor and drove 400 miles to come pick it up. A couple days before he makes up a story that the motor was no good. I said I will still buy for parts, but he still says no. I say what difference is there I was buying it as a parts motor to start with and called him out on it saying you sold it to someone else for more and am not a man of your word and he had no response and got quiet. I further said if youre so worried than why not just reduce the price a little bit, not that I even cared about that I was still fine paying what we agreed to. John comes back again with no response. Whats even better is initially he had his female employee call me and didnt even have the spine to talk on the phone himself. Talk about bad treatment of an employee - make her do your dirty work. Wow. Rather than being a liar why not just come clean? I guess that is just their level of character - which is poor. Avoid this place. With such low ratings you know this is not a matter of a few bad customers. Its the business which is clearly a bad one. Plenty of other options to chose from in the area with much better reputations. Spoke with a few other local boat yards while down in the area and they all corroborated what I concluded after just 1 interaction with him."

"Although I have limited history with this marina, John and his staff have been great so far. During a very busy time, John was able to get my boat looked at and worked on promptly. As expected, John, Mike & all staff members were credible & knowledgeable. All work was done as promised. I highly recommend.."

"Before you call or go to this J&E marine repair shop 888 bay way ave, Lanoka Harbor. you better call someone else. This shop is a ripoff. They charge double and also charge you for work which was already being done. Whoever gave this shop 5 stars is all lie. Real customer gave zero star or negative star. I called this shop to winterized my boat. He charge me around $600.00. What he did was put few gallons of antifreeze. He couldn’t even start my generator but still charged me. Somehow he started the engine and claimed that my engine was misfired. When I asked if he could troubleshoot, he tried to charge me $266.14 without doing anything. He already charged my credit card. When I ask for money back. He said “I charged you $266.14 to tell that my engine was misfired. He didn’t know that I had the Survayor report. On the report clearly says that the engine was nice and smooth and problem were found on sea trial’s. I am going to call the better business borrow and complain about fraud and ripping off people."

"John and his staff did a great job preparing my Cutlass bearing after I ran over a crab trap line.. Springtime is a busy time for any Marine shop but I was put on a list and gave an estimated completion date which they met and the work was completed at a reasonable cost. Morgan kept me up-to-date throughout the process. Thanks J & E Marine for getting me back on the water in no time"

"This place sold me parts for my boat that I didn't need and never gave me the part. He is an absolute crook. Only reason I left Lanoka Harbor Marina. 100% In addition, the heat exchanger he said I needed to replace is installed and working fine. He is basically saying the money I paid for a part I didn't need, he applied to diagnostic. What a bad business person. If your work was worthy, why would you have to lie....? The boat is running great. Thanks to an honest mechanic...Not J&E."
