"Absolutely trash company. Bought a brand new Hayward pump through Leslie’s. Had it installed. It has been louder than the pump I bought it to replace. I contacted Hayward under their 90 day warranty… took them over a week to respond and all I was told is to take it an “authorized dealer for repair”. Firstly there aren’t any in Oklahoma that will service a pump they didn’t sell. Second, I have to pay additional labor to have it fixed… have the thing I bought brand new, that never worked, fixed. What a sad excuse of a company. I 100% understand why everyone is switching to Jandy, the stiff actually works out of the box. Stay as far away from Hayward as you can."
"Do not purchase any Hayward pool products. My pool installer installed a Hayward Superpump 700 in March 2021. The pump failed and needed replaced in May 2023. They only carry a two year warranty and broke just beyond the warranty period. This pump is very expensive and not worth purchasing."
"Horrible product. 6 year old pool with all Hayward equipment. Year 1 had the pump replaced (under warranty luckily) 2 of the 3 niche-less led lights burned out had them replaced under the 1 year warranty and the replacement ones were not under any warranty nor did it extend the warranty. So now my second pair is burned out and 1 still standing barely it’s strobing and going through all the colors and can’t control only can turn it off. So the original parts were junk didn’t make it a year then the way they get out of future warranty they don’t extend it on the replacement parts or stand behind their products that they say are supposed to run 10,000 or 50,000 hours on their website. now to replace all 4 they are $900 each plus labor to install…. Thousands of online complaints about these specific lights and Hayward won’t do anything about it…. Update !!! 8/2/2022 Well I have to say that Hayward has done right by me. I did attempt to call and get a solution to my lights being out of warranty and going out for the second time in 5 years and over the phone there was not much help so I turned to the internet to find that many others had the same experience. So then I filed a BBB COMPLAINT… with 24 hours I had a response from a Hayward rep asking me to provide details with my issues. I gave them all the info I had available to me and their response was with a UPS tracking number and solutions to replace all my lights and remote that were out and defective. Based on that they have earned a lifelong customer and will buy their products again. So thank you Hayward and I wanted to make sure I leave a review here and on Google showing that their attempt to make it right and that it didn’t doesn’t go unnoticed. I appreciate you BBB and Hayward for understanding and helping."
"They simply do not care about their customers. We bought a Hayward Heat Pro Heat Pump to heat our pool last spring. When we had a few cool days in July we turned it on to find it wasn't working, it was leaking water. We contacted our local Hayward Pool Tech. He never visited our home although we were only a few miles from his office. He used photos we sent him to get a new heat exchanger under warranty from Hayward. When it arrived he announced that he couldn't install it as it would require a HVAC tech. He didn't offer to find one for us. He dropped off the part on our front porch and left. That process took about 2 months. I now have the part but no one to install it. Hayward has a great call center, their representatives are amazing. That being said they aren't equipped to answer any questions above and beyond the normal and have no way to reach anyone that can. We call, leave messages and get little response. When someone might email us, days later, it's a very quick and in no way helpful. They simply don't care about their customers. We have only used our pool twice in two months when we were lucky enough for the sun to heat the water enough. We have wasted the entire summer. Now we can't even get a phone call, just endless emails that do nothing."
"I have a 3 year old Hayward Heat Pump which began leaking water. I contacted every repair service listed on Hayward’s website and none of them will even come to out to my home to service this unit. I then called every repair service in a 20 mile radius of my house and once I explained the issue, they told me they would not service Hayward units as they are notoriously problematic. I tried calling Hayward Customer Service. I was told a technician would call me back but no one has responded. I paid almost $4,000 for that unit 3 years ago, now I am likely to need to replace it. Please do not buy anything from Hayward."
