Reviews
"A true thrift store. It can be harder to shop if you have specific size needs for clothing, as there doesn’t seem to be a organization system really. I’ll always show up here anyway though!"
"This thrift store is not as how it used to be. I shopped here for many years and while Kevin and along with his other worker was here, management at this place was great. But everything changed ever since a new person came to manage who I believe is the one who "manages" now at Ditmars Blvd. I wouldn't even call this person "manager" because first of all as a manager why would this person have such a negative attitude. I know this new person that was placed at Ditmars was located before at Steinway. I usually don't write these kind of reviews. I'm not sure that if with this kind of "management" the actual owner of this store makes money. As customers we're suppose to be delivered a great customer satisfaction quality but how should that be delivered when the new person who's in charge doesn't have patience. Also, almost every time when I come to the store he's always on his phone. It happens here and it used to on Steinway. The prices are almost like buying it at the original store, prices aren't priced as how it used to be. Anyways, I hope management under this store changes since it wasn't like this before."
"I usually find real gems here, unlike Buffalo Exchange nearby. This is a true thrift shop (only inventory is from individual contributions), not a combo consignment+overflow shop (like BuffEx, which takes overstock from retailers - that's why you'll often find multiples of the same item in different sizes). It smells clean and every item I've looked at has been in fairly good (ie 'thrift') condition. Prices can't be beat, either! I believe it's an actual charity org., as well. The only issue I ever have is that there's not much organization beyond item type (men's, women's, books, kitchen, etc. - nothing more specific) which makes shopping there for specifics harder. Honestly, though, it really hits the "thrill of the hunt" buttons for exactly that reason - never know what you'll find where in the store."
"This is an excellent Thrift Shop due to the wide variety of well-priced items situated throughout the store. Options here range from clothing to books to electronics and all other kinds of doodads you can and cannot imagine. The store is kept extremely clean and the staff here are very kind and friendly. The store takes donations that provide returns on taxes. Overall, this spot is simply a fun place to explore, and a great way to get to most out of items that are discarded too soon against the competing attention and advertisements of an ever-growing materialistic culture of consumerism."
"You can find intresting stuff if you check carefully."
