"So i called this facility a few weeks ago because i needed urgent dental care and literally never got an answer from anyone. First time i called a lady picked up and said the doc was not in i believe it was labor day weekend but i was in extreme pain and needed dental help which i still dont understand why there isnt someone available at all times but i was like ok fine i guess i understand but i Also didnt like how she didnt seem to want help me too much it was just like yea the doc is not in your on your own no other useful info or anything no apology just fend for yourself. 2nd time i was waiting on the line for a good 30 min even though it said my call was next in line. It then told me To leave a voicemail which i did and they just never got back to me . I called again next day and same thing happened . It was not a holiday weekend anymore so i dont see the excuse of not picking up or at least getting back to me i left two voicemails and yes i put my info on the voicemails as well. So with that said i wouldn’t recommend being that it seems there is no sense of urgency or care from the DENTAL side. I cant speak for the other services for i had no issues on that end."
"I have been to different clinics and hospitals, maybe more than the average person because of my families history with medical problems. I mention this because Rutgers has genuinely impressed me. Clean facility, pleasant and patient people working here (plenty of young talent), and they seem to honestly want to help you here. I was very surprised they took our insurance and on top of that charge less than some local clinics for service. Very happy with our experience thus far(mother and myself) and just wanted to express gratitude for thier efforts."
"Never Again will I ever schedule a surgery through Rutgers (specifically the Dept. of Otolaryngology) the nurses never ever did their job in regards to pre admission, keeping me updated with what tests I needed to have, getting approval from the insurance company to have the tests completed, what doctors I needed clearance with prior to surgery.... I even had to stay on top of them just to get Covid testing for pre admission. Here I am, the day before surgery still scrambling to get clearance from the cardiologist because they never handled that either. Every time I have an appointment, no one wants to check me in at the front desk. It’s like the entrance has a mysterious power that makes me invisible by the time I hit the desk. There’s always nasty attitudes and everything is disorganized. Meanwhile patients (including me, who is disabled) who don’t feel well have to work harder and go out of our way to make sure we get proper treatment. Never have I ever experienced a nightmare like this. My doctor/surgeon is freaking amazing but the nurses need a miracle ... and proper training. I understand it is covid season and offices are understaffed but that has nothing to do with inappropriate conduct and the mishandling of a patients scheduled surgery. Lastly, I want to mention that I also go to Rutgers School of Dentistry in Newark for my routine dental and TMJ treatment. I have never had any issues with the School of Dentistry. They are the most pleasant and efficient! This is why I have rated 5 stars"
"Nice staff, they get your temperature before you are allowed to go in, clean and hygienic environment, also social distancing is highly encouraged and perimeters are put in place to ensure that. Overall experience was good."
"Being in Newark, parking can be difficult. There is a parking garage but can be a bit expensive. Before they reopened, staff and students were tested. Your comfort is their first priority so if you go, and feel uncomfortable, tell them. My dentist in very nice, along with all the staff. Everyone is nice and pleasant. I would recommend the Dental School, as I would recommend ANY teaching facility."
