"I came here 14 years ago with my family, a Monday night in 2009, so vibrant, such great food. So good, we came back 2 days later on a Wednesday and only got a table because our waiter remembered us from the previous night. Went there tonight. Easy to get a table, in hindsight that should have been a sign. We were Totally deflated. I had the calamari , it would have been passable if it hadn’t been sitting under the warmer for 20 minutes. Chicken, blah… same The prices were crazy too, 30 bucks for a Greek salad??? Paid the bill and left the tip, and only after that gave some feedback to one of the senior staff. Avra, truly hope you can get back some semblance of what you were."
"ordered a vibrant green delight, got a chopped salad medley—more lettuce varieties than a farmer's market. Even after saying "hold the cheese," surprise! Cheese crasher alert. Then, COME THE SARDINES!! I swear, those little fish were saltier than the entire Atlantic Ocean. I took one bite, and my mouth turned into a salt lick. And the zucchinis? So, the zucchinis arrived oil-drenched, slippery enough to challenge a banana peel. But when I tried lifting them, they were more like floppy disks than chips. .Plus, the warm dishes? Arrived colder than NY winter Conclusion: I paid a Benjamin for a front-row seat to the "Where Did My Appetite Go?" show."
"Although pricey for those who do not eat in this area often, the food is fresh and service was great. The lighting is great for a date or even just a simple dinner with a colleague. Avra zucchini chips - crispy and seasoned just right Octopus - slightly fishy but still tasty Greek salad - tomatoes are extremely juicy Beet salad - standard beet taste but the hummus really put the dish together Cocktails - sweet"
