"This place lacks talent base necessary to function at minimum level. Staff members are forced to work long hours overtime, often at a moment's notice. This reflects in the poor service provided to its main stakeholder. There is unending "putting out the fires" daily dilemmas. While staff morale is low and in constant fear from those above, the receiver at the bottom suffers. While this is a prison, in theory, the service is supposed to meet a minimum bar set forth by an outside agency. A bar it simply can not meet due to fundamental flaws in the management style. A management that has not changed since the dawn of BOP creation. It is archaic, and those above refused to change the status quo. Non-BOP staff in high positions run the facility. They do not answer to BOP policies but to themselves, hence no accountability. Promotions are based on who you know, not because they were deserving or skilled in the task at hand. Cronyism, corruption run amuck. It is no wonder they have a massive talent drain despite a hiring initiative. Those who care leave immediately and never look back, forgetting a time in their life that was unimaginable. Those who don't care stay become complacent while working under miserable conditions, physically there but mentally somewhere else. All the same, the incarcerated pay the price, under such toxic work culture."
"Passed through here on my way returning from overseas. Food was bad & room I had to stay in was not ready for occupancy. It took me 4 hours to secure a ride to the local airport. Not impressed."
"Never answer phone, inappropriate behavior from correctional officers, Dr. I'm assuming ignores his duties on refills for inmates and emergency care, no counseling for inmates that truly want help, no air and gross. It's prison but it needs good cleaning of operations and food etc. Just saying how it is. No candy coating here"
"There are no electric outlets in side the prison. There are no fans or air-conditioning. So you really suffer in the summer time. They have these battery fans that are a waste of time that should be illegal. Then the run out of batteries by June so your usless fans stop working."
