"We were the first in when store opens on Saturday with appointment. Dog wasn't ready until five hours later. Prices up from last visit 100 now 170 with tax Sign cash only not properly displayed and cashier never mentioned it this when we dropped dog off. We were faithful users for ten years when store was Popcawn Paws. Probably will go elsewhere next time."
"When I first walked in to the establishment I was greeted warmly and provided a fair and clear price for a thorough wash and trim, even though it was a tad inconvenient that they only accepted cash. However, I do understand their reasoning behind it. Unfortunately, I have to give this business a low rating because the day after the appointment, I noticed a significant change in my dog's behavior. He started incessantly licking himself and his usual lively demeanor had diminished greatly. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that his private parts were mistakenly nicked during the grooming process and had become infected. Consequently, he now has a noticeable rash and is visibly uncomfortable and miserable. If only I had been informed about this mishap, I could have taken immediate action. I am deeply disheartened by the lack of transparency shown by this grooming establishment. My heart aches for my dog because I can't even fathom how uncomfortable he must be, and I feel utterly powerless in this predicament. This unfortunate situation could have been avoided if they had simply informed me."
"First time using Pawz. I didn’t have a problem scheduling. I got there before time, and was taking care of right away. They told me that they will call to let me know when Smokie will be ready. My dog is a yorkie poo. This the first time a number 7 cut. It looked good. But the nail cutting didn’t happen, Miguel cut into the vain area and it started bleeding. This is the first time that ever happened and I wasn’t pleased with it, especially when they said that my dog have to many veins around the nails. Somebody just didn’t know what they were doing. These people justified everything that I had a complaint about. When my Smokie got home he started scooting around on his butt, I picked him up and noticed that a hard piece of poop was stuck on the side. I had to finish their job of cleaning what paid for $198.16. Someone called from pawz and asked me did anyone tell that Smokie was ready for pickup. Pitiful. I already had my dog. Poor communication. Smokie has a vet appointment on the 8th of September. My dog is miserable constantly scratching. I’m sure the tools are not clean. Poop on the butt and bleeding paw. And not only that they charge me for plague removal and my dog’s teeth look the same. I can’t trust these people. I learned my lesson."
"I've never left a review but feel that as someone who works in the pet field, feedback would be helpful not only to the establishment but to anyone considering visiting. I loved when the store was located on 3601A Fieldston (which hasn't been updated to it's current location on it's website so make sure you're following the directions on Google, not their direct site). Since they've relocated to 1 Riverdale Avenue, their quality of service has taken a major hit. When I last visited (late May) to get my 80lb (very friendly and trained) dog's nails clipped, the Groomer and Groomer's assistant both gave me a look as if they were waiting for me to go in the back and lift him onto the table which I found weird seeing as how typically clients are not required to go into the inner parts of facilities and when I did go back there, they clearly had a Groomer's table which had pedals for going up and down. Not sure if they were functional but the 2 gentleman were definitely able to lift my dog without me needing to be there. Once done, I was told that they shifted to a Cash-Only business of which I was not made aware until after my dog was done with the nail clipping making it so that I had to send my partner to find an ATM somewhere nearby to pay. Then upon exiting, the receptionist (whose intentions were clearly good) gave my dog a beef dog patty treat without asking. I didn't get upset about it but as someone who has seen very serious allergic reactions in pets, I feel that another employee in this field should've known to ask first especially since beef, chicken and fish are the highest allergens in the dog world. Overall, there is something clearly causing the company to change and I hope it operationally goes back to how it was at it's previous location. There is so much potential where it currently is and just needs some nurturing, re-branding and proper promoting."
"We brought our long haired cat here and they did an amazing job! It took a shorter time than expected (1.5 hours) and they texted when she was ready for pickup! When we got her home she was so soft and clean! Definitely coming here again, plus they have a great selection of pet food, treats, leashes, collars, etc."
