Reviews of Delta Dental of New Jersey, Inc.
"I canceled my insurance last year. You idiots are still charging me. No one answers the phone."
"They do not cover the cost of what quality dentists are charging. I've also heard feedback that dentists are not participating with Delta Dental because they won't cover what a particular service or procedure costs. Delta Dental only covers what THEY say a service or procedure costs. It seems to me this is common among other dental insurance providers as well. They are trying to dictate what things cost. The problem with this approach is, what happens if they drive the cost down across dentistry (just imagine because we all know that won't happen). One, they will then just try again to lower what they pay out, while they continue to increase their own cost to their participants. Two, the quality of actual dentists will go way down with it. Imagine working for a particular amount for a service, then suddenly you're told they decided it's worth less for no valid or truthful reason. Most people would either refuse to work with them or the quality of work would drop. My son doesn't have any "in network" options where I live. As for myself, I've seen reviews of dentists in my area and they are horrible, or I have gone myself to see what the office was like and my first impression was to run the other direction. I would not go to these "in network" dentist offices in my area at all if they were my only option. The quality of these dentists is supporting evidence of my above statement. It's sad to see an insurance company participating in a money grab like this. Especially when dental health has such a huge impact to a person's overall health. When I call to talk about it with support I'm just dismissed and told basically "it is what it is" and I simply cannot do anything because I can't go to one of their "in network" dentists. If you pay for your own dental insurance or have a choice through your employer I do not recommend this company. They clearly just want your money. The other negative reviews of Delta Dental is supporting evidence they just want your money and don't care to pay out for even routine cleanings or routine procedures."
"Horrible service. They deny claims or give only half after specifically on their website it said that they would cover $1500 a year (braces) but when i called, they said that its only half of $1500. Do not waste your time and money. Rip off!"
"I wish I could give zero stars. This is the most unethical, disgusting insurance company I have ever dealt with, and I am a healthcare provider myself. They will do anything and everything to get out of paying, all while charging a high monthly premium. I am so glad I canceled my policy with them after only 2 months because I was throwing money away. Shame on this company for robbing people of money and LYING about benefits and reimbursement rates. Absolutely disgusting."
"They rejected the claim because my tooth was "not damaged enough". This means I should live with a tooth that has ongoing decay for months before I can act on it and it will qualify for a claim. It's funny that the dentist thinks I need treatment but the claim reviewer does not agree. Do not recommend."
