"I purchased their SIE Exam prep package that gave me a textbook and access to videos online. Their textbook was written in a confusing manner (like not using indentations to separate different ideas). Their videos showcase a man who looks like he’s barely happy to be alive, and his monotone speech will have you struggling to stay awake. Their practice test questions were the worst part. Their practice test questions had obvious spelling and grammatical errors. Some of their practice test question answers were materially false. For example, I got a question wrong because I said durable POA’s do not survive death. Their study book said I would NOT need to know how to calculate YTM for the SIE, and then they asked me how to calculate YTM on a practice test. Why tell me I don’t need to learn something, and then test me on it? The things they focus on for the SIE get so far off in the weeds, there’s not enough focus on things that are actually in the test. When I actually took the SIE test there were several topics on the exam that they never covered in their book or videos. Their “Greenlight” exam is a scam. I got a 40% on it. This nearly crushed my confidence. Before this I was getting high 70’s and low 80’s I even got a 90% on FINRA’s free practice SIE exam on their website. How did I go from a 90% on FINRA’s practice to 40% on Securities Institute’s “Greenlight” exam? Easy. Their “Greenlight” exam is designed to be failed. This is because they guarantee your money back if you pass their “Greenlight” exam and then (within 5 days) fail the SIE. They don’t want to give you your money back, so instead they give you an impossible exam that crushes your spirit. Until you realize they are crooks. I passed the SIE exam after using Securities Institute’s study materials, and that’s the only reason they received the second star. I still want my money back for the horrible experience I had using their product."

"Multiple questions in the online tests were never covered in the book or anywhere in the videos. Had to use a different curriculum to learn the subjects. Greenlight is a scam. They gave me a Greenlight exam for a completely different license. I ended up passing the SIE two days after miserably failing the fake Greenlight that wasn't even for the SIE."

"I generally agree with what was said on the other review. I used SIA to prepare for my SIE exam. Most frustrating part of the experience was the Green light exam. That was one of the main reasons that I selected Securities Institute of America. Unfortunately, I got a 45% after thoroughly reading the textbook and spending well over the recommended 10hrs. on practice tests. The questions were WAY harder than what you see in the textbook and test bank. It's pretty obvious that they don't want to pay anyone who fails the SIE exam after passing the Green light exam. It just feels like a scam. Fortunately, I passed the SIE but if I had to do it again, I'd select another provider. Setting aside the green light exam, the website was not user friendly, the videos were not engaging, and there were numerous typos / poorly worded questions. Good luck if you choose to use this program...I guess the good news is that you can still pass!"
