Reviews of Santiego Worldwide Moving
"If you want a company that is unprofessional, damages your items, and drives into your car, then you found the right place! To clarify the inevitable denial, the driver was reckless and side swiped our car and refused to take responsibility for it. Sure accidents happen, but the fact that they won't take ownership to this shows how little they care about your personal items and in this case our car. Their immediate response was aggression followed by more aggression. Honestly I don't even want to write out the things they said because it was pretty horrifying. Honesty and respect goes a long way, but you simply won't find that here."
"We had a very stressful move to undertake, and the Santiego movers came prepared with stuff we didn't even know we needed. They calmed our nerves with their professionalism and expertise, and put everything directly into storage for a few months (for a very reasonable fee). Then they delivered it to the new address just as competently and calmly as the pickup. They are now my go-to movers. Highly recommend!"
"MOVE FROM NJ TO VA: DISASTER! This review is to save anyone who wants to avoid having their personal property and old and new home damaged and or destroyed by this unprofessional company that claims to be professional movers. 1. THE COST: Their price is on par with moving companies that actually move you themselves. Atlas Van Lines outsourced the move to a local company in NJ called Santiego Worldwide Inc. Moving & Storage, which turned out to be a bunch of local hires that ripped my couch, left scuffs on the walls and ceilings, and left me feeling nervous the entire time. 2. THE MOVE: Where to begin...the staff at Santiego Worldwide Inc. Moving & Storage, changed my delivery date 3 times! We didn't see our property for 2 weeks after pick up. And when they finally decided to deliver the items, they forced delivery on a day that worked for them, not us. I had just started a new job and my boss was furious that I was already taking a day off in the middle of the week, But Atlas Van Lines and Santiego Worldwide Inc. Moving & Storage didn't care. 3. THE MOVERS: On pickup the movers, who appeared unprofessional, spent hours tagging every item with a number and writing the numbers down on an invoice. On delivery day, the movers disregarded the number system and dumped everything off their truck as quickly as they could wherever they saw an empty spot. We even found other peoples items and are missing items of our own. The movers on move out day and move in day also damaged ceilings, damaged walls, and trampled over our plant life on the outside of our house. They slammed down boxes, scratched new floors, and broke many valuable things. Somehow they even carelessly broke my framed diploma and tore my diploma from 15 years ago. 4. OUR BELONGINGS: It all started when we noticed that the truck that delivered our belongings to Virginia was not the original truck that Atlas Van Lines and Santiego Worldwide Inc. Moving & Storage packed our things into back in NJ. This means they unloaded all of our things and carelessly jammed them into a new truck. No wonder so many things were damaged, broken or dirty. This company damaged irreplaceable antique furniture, destroyed modern furniture, broke glass in boxes that were properly packed with bubble wrap and paper, lost some of our items, and even gave us items that didn't belong to us. We also found MICE in a box that must have been stored at their facility. We had to call an exterminator to get rid of the vermin. Over $10,000+ worth of destroyed furniture and valuables, damages to both homes, contractor repair costs, and exterminator costs and Santiego Worldwide Inc. Moving & Storage had us work with a claims adjuster from Atlas Van Lines who actually ONLY wants to refund $451 dollars, because they only pay 60 cents on the dollar per pound. They care nothing about how they handled themselves or the actual worth of your property. I'm not sure what else to write other than save yourself the trouble. We will be taking legal action against this company for proper restitution and so that hopefully others do not have to go through the same ordeal."
"We had Guy come out and give us an estimate. He stated that he "over estimated" our weight at 15k pounds. He assured us, he had over 26 years of experience and the other companies "under estimated" our weight and would hit us later with additional charges. He further explained to us that, another moving company, who didn't charge buy weight, would move our home in separate trucks and in the event of a mechanical breakdown, would delay our delivery. He sold my wife on the idea that in that event, Santiago uses an 18-wheeler and could swap out the truck part and continue with the shipping and not have our possessions tied up at a repair shop. My wife felt secure with Guy's fancy talking, that she decided to go with Santiago, this is where the nightmare began. The movers arrived, IN TWO SEPARATE BOX TRUCKS, not the 18-wheeler as promised. On moving day, they were late because, they did not have any trucks for my move and had to lease these trucks from a rental company, even though we had signed a contract weeks prior. At this point, the series of lies began. The movers themselves, were respectful and polite but somehow, the trucks did not get loaded in one day like promised. The move continued the next day, thank God the new owners were gracious enough to allow us the additional time. We were assured that it would be only a "couple of hours" till we could leave. By 3:30 pm the next day, they still were not loaded and my wife and I needed to be in our new location that day. We explained to the movers what we needed done and left. Two days later, the trucks arrive at our new location. Everything was unloaded and the movers left. As we began to unpack, we noticed things were missing. We also noticed Santiago charged us an additional 30% because the weight came out to 20k pounds instead of 15k. We were never provided with the weight slips before being charged nearly 150% of the original estimate. According to our contract, they were allowed to charge 110% of the final weight and bill us for the rest. They charged our credit card the whole ammount immediately and violated the contract. We noticed they had left some of our items at the old residence and refused to make good on getting those items to us. We had to make our own arrangements, at our expense, to get our property back. Santiago completely ignored our requests as to how would our property be delivered to us. We also noticed numerous items were damaged in the move, which they also refused to acknowledge. We have moved a few times and have never experienced such a company, so obsessed with money to the point that, customer satisfaction took a back seat. If you enjoy being ripped off, being treated with utter disrespect and having to engage in a fight, while dealing with the pressures of a move, by all means, take your chances with this sorry excuse of a company. I for one, will never use, nor refer, this company to anyone. The only reason I rated this company one star is because that is the lowest rating available."
