"ABA staff is professional and responsive, good communication from coordinators to parents, the onboarding process was smooth and transparent. Accept Cigna insurance (at least mine). I was fortunate enough to not have billing issues as my insurance covers ABA 100% with no co-pay. I do see some parents complain about the therapists. This is a valid point, it really is not hard to get a Behavioral Technician (BT) certification and somehow there is still a shortage of BTs. However my experience with Sunshine coordinators is that they will acknowledge when BTs are not working out, and will try to re-staff the case. (Whether they succeed or not is another story lol, see the "shortage" part above.) I can also say that I was fortunate to get fantastic BTs the first time around. I also acknowledge that my son may be considered an "easier" case because he is only 2 and so doesnt have behaviors, etc, just communication/speech delays and occasional tantrums. Sunshine is my 2nd ABA provider, and I am very happy with them. I would recommend for parents to communicate repeatedly and insistently, including via EMAIL, about any issues they have, and this applies to working with any ABA provider. Consistent and trackable written follow-up, including escalation to management as needed, is key."
"I worked with clients who are very satisfied with the services and received a lot of good feedback from the therapists they have been working with."
"Horrible experience, not paid for my time as a new staff. Disrespectful management and recruits from overseas which complicates the process. I don’t recommend this company to anyone who is serious about their child’s care."
"Extremely disappointed. Firstly we signed up a year ago. They tried to get us to dedicate 12 hours a week in care for one child, which we were unable to do. They disregarded us for a year till someone was able to take on a shorter load. It seems as if their purpose is only to hire people and receive payment from the state. There is no real care or interest in child development. I had a woman come to visit us for 2 weeks in which she just watched my son read books for two hours. She had no clue what state my son was in or what help he needed. We spent the first day of us explaining the care he needs and she told us how she was perfect for the job because she worked in an elderly home. How that correlates to my autistic child, I dont know. She complained about previous cases which my husband and I felt a way about. After 2 weeks, she texts to say she can’t come anymore due to personal reasons . Sunshine advantage didn’t reach out to me to inform me that they would be waiting to get another person to fill the slots we made time for. I sent an email fully addressing my concerns and a need for help with 2 of my sons. (I have 2 autistic children- I’ve asked for services for the 2nd and I kept getting an ok, we can do that without any intentions on doing it). I received an email back asking if i want to take parental training classes. At first in desperation, I said yes to being interested. But the more -I discuss it with my husband the more upset I am at how my sons case is being handled. The communication is lacking . I get a call today, asking if I’m available on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. I said I’m no longer interested and I’m going to find another ABA Services Company. I said my experience wasn’t too great. Her reply, “ ok, I’m sorry we will go ahead and discharge him.” She didn’t care to find out the issue… This is a staffing agency. They do not care about the progression of your child."
"The staff is very kind and seems like it be a great help of service for my special needs child. Well all the therapist aren't very good. Very disappointing I will be looking into another agency for help with my daughter."
