"I find some support staff lacking basic civility in their speech. It could be considered borderline insensitive, malicious, and nasty. In that sense, it is the same business as Best Buy, mall, food store etc. you just sell Math. I suggest getting your support staff a tour of any store so they can pick a thing or two from trained customer support professionals. Update - I spoke to the campus director and she allayed all my concerns related to the incident and reaffirmed with me the AOPS mission and how welcoming its culture is. I was happy to note that institute ensures that kids are placed above everything else. Thank you for addressing my concerns. Much appreciated."
"My son attended AOPS online during pandemic and math and physics in person class in Princeton NJ location. The director team was tremendously helpful. My son needed a recommendation letter for summer camp. The director responded prompts, all form and letter were sent out in time. The recommendation letter was very detailed about the course and very supportive to my son's application. This is extra favor to ask the director to write a letter. I am really surprised how supportive AOPS to its student. I really appreciate the help. Thank you!"
"The materials and teachers are good. But for any parent its a full time job to see if their child is doing what they are supposed to do in this program Any other tuition place has more of a setting similar to private tuition like 1:5 etc. Here it is more like a school but with zero feedback from them. Whether child did homework or not no one cares. They will just move on. Mid terms and finals are a joke since even if you get 0/100 its still fine. Pandemic caused them to go virtual but parents are still expected to go and collect books during one 2 hr window on a weekend only. If parents want to ship the books they have to pay for shipping. Go figure. There are no reminders, nothing. Quality of tuition: I took my son off their Maths Algebra program. Reason: they cover ONLY the basic problems with 1 challenge problem as homework. The main reason for doing Aops is the high quality of materials and problems. They offer a paltry 15 min before class for discussions but help was extremely limited. My son attempted a lot of challenge (*) problems but needed help. Its cheaper, better to use the corporate portal for virtual. There there is always someone in message board responding and helping when using the corporate program."
