Reviews of Echelon Glen Apartments
"I have lived in South Jersey since the summer of 1995. Out of 28 years, I have lived in apartments for 16 years. I lived in two apartments in Maple Shade and two apartments in Voorhees. I and my wife moved to Echelon Glen Apartments in the fall of 2020. We chose this apartment for its ideal location. Everything we need is within 5 to 8 miles maximum; from doctors’ offices to hospitals, grocery stores to restaurants, Camden County Regional Public Library to malls and much more. From my experience of living here, I can say with confidence that the maintenance service is the Hallmark of Echelon Glen Apartments. Its technicians are polite, courteous and demonstrate a high standard of workmanship. I do not recall if I had to call the maintenance department or put in a service request twice for the same issue, because it was not fixed right, the first time. The credit obviously goes to the Maintenance Coordinator, who stays on top of daily maintenance requests initiated by residents of Echelon Glen. She keeps her team motivated to do a good job and in a timely manner. I can recommend Echelon Glen Apartments to anyone who is looking for a great maintenance service. "Have a friend that lives in this development. He says it is okay most of the time. Voorhees is a very nice town. Just once in awhile you get a bunch of kids getting into some trouble."
"Horrible management. Over priced apartments that aren’t even well maintained. Unless you’re living in the main building where the leasing office is the other buildings aren’t maintained the landscaping is hardly upkeep the playgrounds are so worn down. The management puts no money into taking care of their establishments. The balconies are rotting the entry ways to the buildings are dirty and rusted. You would think paying over $2000 in rent they would use the money towards renovations or at least upkeeping the properties."
"Starting my 3rd year and my experience has been mostly positive at Echelon Glen. Maintenance is efficient. The units are roomy, some updating to older units would be nice. The area is very accessible to transportation, shopping, and entertainment. 4 years later.... Regarding: Living at Echelon Glen in Voorhees, NJ When I first became a resident of Echelon Glen in November 2015, I anticipated a great move. I felt that way for a short while, until the management became lax in what they were providing to their residents. Then a new management company took the property on. Two days after my first year in, there was a major fire in the apartment below me, caused by a heater issue. (Thanksgiving Eve). My apartment was smoke damaged and firefighters had to break down doors and walls to access the utility area that was locked, I had no key or access (management kept it locked then). I was displaced for 6 weeks, during the holiday season living in a hotel, after signing a new lease, and ultimately given an apartment that was another floor up, with original kitchen and bath (70s), they renovated with the smoke damaged cabinets and appliances from my previous 2nd floor apartment. Extra cabinets were replaced by mismatched cabinets. Meanwhile i was paying the new annual rent increase that was for the 2nd floor apartment. Carpets (dry rotted , stained, cracking underfoot) were never replaced, when again it would have been easy to replace a vacant apt, again a promise never followed through with. When I asked about cleaning, I was told I would have to pay $200. Blinds were gross and never replaced. I stayed on, hoping things would get better. Three years later, and things did not get better when a new property manager came on board (actually, things got worse and less personal). As time went on, never got any upgrades, just excuses. My dishwasher, circa 1980, died. It was replaced with a loud cheap tin can that did not fit. Was told to watch that it didn't overflow, because it wasn't level. It overflowed many times. Was told a plunger works. The laundry room is disgusting, it seems people don’t have much consideration around here (and management doesn’t follow through), in the laundry room or on the grounds. I sincerely feel bad for the gentleman who walks the grounds, picking up cigarette butts, trash, and whatever from around the grounds. Rules are not followed, unleashed dogs, excrement, trash billowing out of the dumpster, vestibules filled with toys, shoes blocking stairs. The vestibules are filthy, have never been power washed or even leaf blown…cob webs, wasp nests, dirty handrails and stairways that have not been cleaned or repainted in at least 10 years. I stopped inviting friends over, I was embarrassed. Won’t even mention snow/ice removal procedures…. When I received notice of a major rent increase, with no incentives at all, I knew it was time to go, no loyalty for tenants who paid rent by the first of every month, and treated their apartment like a home for years. After sending requests for my rent renewal notice for weeks, the renewal notice finally came one day before I needed to present my notice to vacate, hence, I was obligated to pay an extra $200.00. It took weeks for Malky to get back to me (he is at corporate, as the management office in Voorhees never responded). So not professional. No communication or feeling of community. This management company seems to have profits as their priority. I finally received my security deposit 44 days (?) after I vacated the property. I often wonder, would these owners/managers want their mothers/fathers/families living here? Huge doubt. After 7 years, I'm so happy to be moving on. Good luck current and future residents and staff of Echelon Glen. Hope you see a turn around."
"Updated, clean, and safe. Since a new property management group took over Echelon Glen Apartments, have significantly improved. Over the past year, I've have noticed more attention has been paid to updating apartments, cleaning and maintaining shared grounds, installing more community features (dog-waste garbage can and a new sidewalk). Additionally, the leasing office and maintenance has been very helpful and quick with addressing all types of problems I may experience. Great place to live."
