Reviews of Grace Wilday Junior High School
"Teachers are amazing, they actually look forward to the school day. Students are terrible. Please parents please! And this is for your childs own good. DONT send your child to this school, its terrible. Fights EVERYDAY, students want to fight you for no reason. If you dont want your child to come home with a broken nose and black eye, dont send your child to this school. Bullying and violence is insane here. Thats all imma say..."
"I don't think that I will like this school. This year, Im going there as a 7th grader, and now I'm worried about the things that could possibly happen at this school. "fights everyday"? I thought this was a junior high school, and I was expecting good reviews. Im the type of person that wants good grades so that I can succeed and make some people proud. This shouldn't even happen at all. I shouldn't be scared to go to this school. And with things the way that they are, already, people's parents are saying that they don't want their children going to that school. "too many fights" come on now. I was expecting this school to be strict. Seeing that the reviews were written a year ago, I hope the school isn't going to be that bad right now"
"Students, stop complaining! It's not the teachers fault that you don't want to learn. Love this school, I intensely feel the aroma of EDUCATION everyday, and everywhere. Teachers are well-trained and they receive you everyday with a smile on their faces, ready to help the student with any struggle. That is the meaning of a SCHOOL!"
"I wrote a review on this school 6 months ago and honestly, nothing has changed. The school is worse than horrible. Many students think they can do whatever they want and get away with it. I don't know why children don't get disciplined. In other schools if you even talk while the teacher is talking you get suspended. If this type of discipline was implemented a long time ago, it would make a big difference in the school. I suspect that adults in the school are afraid of the parents which is very stupid if that is what they think. If they are at home, don't care. However, if they are in school, they should abide by the rules no matter what because this is not your house. The principal needs to get a backbone because if he just assigns people detention, the school is not going anywhere. In addition, the school needs to work on academics. i know many people who are in low classes but belong in a higher level which unfair because the people that are working hard and trying to succeed are being trapped by the people who don't work hard and want to succeed and yet they are still in honors class. For the most part teachers are very nice and teach you properly. But there are some teachers that i just wonder sometimes. Some teachers just sit around on their phone or 'grade papers' and don't teach. When the test day comes, they expect you to pass!!! That is very ridiculous and disgusting behavior. If you have the passion/temperament to teach then why are you here??? Many students want to learn and succeed and teachers that don't teach are wasting their students time. Teaching is not for the faint-hearten, so if you can't teach or handle your class then your not cut for the job. sorry. Not all the teachers though"
"Three words for this school out of control, I am a student that goes to this school and I have to say it is pretty bad. There are fights at least twice a week, I d believe that, that is on the students but if this is constantly happening there has to be a bigger issue taking place. Although the school is very bad it truly does have potential, me and my friends have tried to make a difference but it feels like we aren't going anywhere. Since the fights have been primarily between the females we've suggested having an assembly teaching the girls to work out there issues and teach the consequences their behavior can bring to them in the future. I feel they truly believe that money will be handed to them, or that they can support there families with 8.52 per hour. This school doesn't even have ISS, I understand that there is a budget but if the school needs it all extra things should be put aside. Besides this the school is ok, there are some teachers that truly care ( Ms. Palivoda, Mr. Verga, Mr. Williams , Mrs. Coleman, Mr. Howard) ( I am only aware of the 7th grade teachers.) I think the principal needs to be more reasonable and focus more on education rather then our uniform. From - concerned student"
