"Starting with the positives, the building had a wonderful concierge. They were always helpful, lovely, friendly, and genuinely cared about the residents. Their positive attitude and willingness to assist made living here enjoyable. The neighborhood surrounding the apartment building was also a major plus. It was a nice, peaceful area with several amenities nearby. Transportation options were abundant, making it easy to navigate the city. The proximity to public transportation was a definite advantage for those who rely on it for their daily commute. Whether it was buses or subway F and G line, getting around was relatively hassle-free. Now, unfortunately, I must address a significant concern that affected my experience: the building's super. Regrettably, based on my interactions and discussions with other residents, it seemed apparent that the superintendent displayed clear signs of racial bias towards some of us living here. This behavior was not solely my perception; other residents shared similar sentiments. While I understand that everyone has their flaws, it is disheartening to experience such behavior in a person responsible for maintaining the building and ensuring the well-being of its occupants. It is my hope that the super recognizes the impact of their actions and attempts to rectify the situation. Treating all residents with fairness and respect is crucial for fostering a harmonious community. While many residents were greeted warmly by the super, I consistently felt excluded from these interactions. It was disheartening to see others receive friendly greetings while I was met with indifference or, at times, an unfriendly look. This differential treatment left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable in my own home. Moreover, I faced unjust accusations from the superintendent regarding damages in the apartment. Even when it was clear that the issues were a result of normal wear and tear or remnants left from a previous tenant, I was still blamed for these problems. This unjust behavior created unnecessary stress and frustration for me. Try a bit harder to at lease act nicer and being more responsible. Thanks."
"We moved in last Friday and everything has been seamless so far. The staff have been so friendly and helpful, the amenities look great, and the storage unit downstairs has been a godsend! The apartment is so spacious compared to other rentals we've had in NYC. We are loving our new place."
"Lived here for 5 years now, and it was always a really positive experience. We accepted the relatively steep prices, reasoning that the amenities available to residents made it worth the extra money in comparison to the rest of Windsor Terrace/Kensington, and the staff have always been excellent and really care about the residents. However, recently we were saddened to see that the management is now going to be charging residents to use the amenities on top of the cost of rent. Where previously the amenities were all included in the price of rent, now to reserve the residents lounge will cost $75 an hour, use of a private cabana on the roof will cost $50 an hour, & private use of the kids playroom $25 an hour. This all feels like a pretty egregious extra fee to charge for using the building's amenities. Disappointing."
"Great neighborhood, lovely front desk staff, but building management has been problematic- although improved a lot over the past 18 months. They did not do a great job communicating a much delayed set of facility upgrades, or working with residents who were paying for inaccessible facilities. However, during the pandemic, the team have been great, and on the whole it’s a solid place to live in a quiet neighborhood."
"We signed a year lease here and really enjoyed living here. It's a bit pricey but there's a lot of amenities, such as a dog wash, sauna, gym, mail room, and a roof top terrace. The apartment is pet friendly and the staff are very nice. They're very quick to respond to work orders, though we had put in multiple orders about our washing machine not working, and it still didn't work by the time we moved out. It's difficult to find parking on the street but it's at a great location close to bus stops and the subway."
