Reviews of 22-22 Jackson Avenue
"By far the worst apartment I've ever lived in. The building's real estate agent, doormen, and maintenance workers are all nice and helpful but the property managers are the worst I've seen. Unhelpful, unresponsive, and unprofessional all around. I did not have a functioning oven for the entirety of my stay despite several requests to fix this basic appliance. The plumbing is also very bad and again they are slow to make repairs in a timely fashion. In addition, they were slow to return my security deposit. Very negative experience and I do not recommend."
"I consider the management’s action as a fraud. I saw a unit and was told that there is only one unit left in the entire building by the agent Ross. And I applied for the apartment. In the beginning, the communication was done nicely, and they offered one month free rent admitting that the posting with a concession on Streeteasy was done by mistake. Initially it was one month free for a 13 month lease term, and they changed it to one month free for a 12 month lease. While preparing the guarantor and documents, I got told that they have another person who applied for the unit and the unit is gone. The agent said there are other 2 units and tried to convince me to take either one and of course I do not like neither one. Of course, the concession deal is gone although they were those who broke the promise. It’s pretty shady here and they ruined my moving plan. What an awesome story. Be aware that they may give the unit you like to someone else."
"The agent Ross messed the rental process up so badly. Be aware that they will give the unit you apply to someone else although you apply for the unit paying the fee, and try to convince you to take other units. What a SCAM. Shame on people in the management."
"Excellent staff, nice looking building but incredibly overpriced. Paying an ok “net rent” but comparatively, other buildings in the area offer a lot more for a good bit less. The one bedrooms are marketed as larger than they are in photos on StreetEasy and they don’t contain square footage info. My one-bedroom unit has a stovetop but the oven is a very small convection/microwave, making cooking quite difficult. The refrigerator is about 75% the size of a normal refrigerator so storing food is also difficult. Without net rent this apartment is technically nearly 4K a month (LOL) and doesn’t have a washer or dryer. Honestly, it’s crazy. The rooftop is nice if very little seating — it helps a lot of units have terraces. The pool hours (pre-Covid) are 6am to 10am, so only about 1-2 tenants regularly use the pool. (I took the apartment because of the pool and have used it once.) The gym is small but functional. The unit windows have amazing soundproofing against external construction noises and you can hear very little if nothing between apartments, but you can hear EVERYTHING in the hall. Be careful of apartments too close to the elevator (I can hear every time it dings from my bed) or too close to the trash disposal as it’s loud. Again, wonderful staff and nice looking building, but not really worth its cost."
"Poorly constructed, over priced building with few practically functional amenities. Construction will wake you up at 7am 6 days a week. You can get much more for much less in nearly every other apartment building in the area. The staff however, is phenomenal. I'll miss them when I move next month."
