"I took my daughter to this studio to inquire about what class she supposed to be in since she is 11 years old and has been doing art at school and home. But this woman is keep saying that I should have gone to websites before I came to studio. Guess what I did but I wanted to visit and make the decision. I am glad I did that so I know that this women is not suitable for my daughter who said in front of my daughter that they’re 7 years old kids out there who is better than her. I am sure there are who has been doing art classes from the young age, However you shouldn’t have said that in front of any student. They loose their confidence. Then hour later Before I act of anything, Danielle texted me that “ I don’t think your daughter is suitable for my art classes”. Really? How is that possible? That is so unprofessional, so you would like to have students who are already trained. I will not prefer this lady. She talked to us so rudely, I can not express that in words. I would rather pay higher prices for classes than having my child go through metal breakdown."
"I have been studying with Dannielle Mick since I was 8 years old. Now, I'm 17. This art studio is such an amazing place for aspiring artists. I look back on my old, old sketchbooks and laugh, because of how much I've improved. Danielle is so helpful, and emphasizes the importance of value, colors, shapes, and perspective. She really taught me to think before I place my lines, and not to rely on an eraser. I 100% recommend this place for anybody wanting to learn how to create art! The individuals who left negative reviews either had not read the information on the website (about setting up appointments prior to showing up) or had not informed Dannielle of information that would have made classes easier. I promise you, Dannielle is kind, understanding, and an incredible teacher"
"My daughter and I came by the studio today to inquire information as I was interested of signing up my daughter to 2 classes that this place offers. First of all the woman who greeted us was soo rude. She cracked her window opened and she rudely said to me that she can not see us right now and that she is not dressed properly. I said that is fine and further explained to her that I came across her website and was interested of signing up my daughter for some of her classes. She said that it says on her website that I need to call first to make an appointment and she has no time for us right now. Well guess what, I called this woman and told her I am not interested of making an appointment because if this is how you treat your customers, then I'd rather not enroll my daughter there. I further told her that she just lose my business for the way she treated us. I will be taking my business somewhere else. We are all in the middle of this pandemic, we need to treat people kindly! Take your business somewhere else. This woman is mean and rude and not professional AT ALL!"
"My 10 year old daughter has ADHD and General Anxiety Disorder. This was her first year in an art school. All of this information was shared with the teacher. Furthermore, I asked the teacher what class she should begin with and I registered my daughter for the class based off of the teacher's recommendation. The teacher constantly criticized my daughter, telling her that her drawings were wrong. I went to the teacher three different times asking her what is wrong with her drawing and what does she need to work on. Every time I spoke her it was something different. In other words, instead of saying what all of her "look fors" are from the beginning, every time I spoke with her, there was something new and different. Her instructions were not clear since she did not say what all her "look fors" are from the very beginning. I spoke to her in a calm manner and tried to work with her, instead she started losing her temper, getting very angry and aggressive. She insulted my parenting skills as well. Mind you, I'm a Special Education Teacher and have been teaching for over 16 years. Every time I had a question, it was as if she did not want to be bothered and was very disrespectful. I emailed her stating that I am fully aware of the things my daughter has to work on and provided some strategies to help her in class. I asked the teacher not to disrespect me again and that she needs to understand that her directions are not clear and it's making my daughter frustrated because she's being told that her work is wrong every time after she worked on what she was asked to do by the teacher after the directions were given to both my daughter and I. I asked if we can work on having better communication, or if this is something that she can't work on then she can cancel my daughter's registration for the next class and refund me my money. She replied in her email that she will cancel her registration and refund my daughter's money. No apologies, and no attempt to try to better communicate. When I went to pick up my check, she acted like she didn't even know who I am and was "acting nice". It could be that she behaved in that manner, because there were children around leaving her class when I went to pick up my check. Also, mind you, I picked up the check just a few days after the email. I even refused to bring my daughter back to her class to complete the lessons I had already paid for. After seeing her volatile temper, I didn't feel that it was safe for my daughter to be in her class. I strongly don't recommend her class to children, especially for children with special needs. She is nasty, is not accommodating, and has a volatile temper."
"I took a course at the Lakeside Art Studio with Danniele, I believe the owner, and I regret it since day one. What a mistake taking these classes! She is absolutely rude and unkind. I am not sure how she manages to have a business at all with her volatile personality. If you decide to take a class with her, just be prepare. She will treat you like dirt, disrespectfully make comments about you to other students, and will criticized your work until you are in tears. Maybe that’s when she believes that you got het point. I will never put a foot on her studio again!"
