"The team was absolutely amazing. Fast, friendly and funny, we had a great group of 7 guys. They were very careful with everything! We had a lot of antiques and several large mirrors and televisions. Everything was packed well, the crew was extremely efficient. One of the large mirrors needed to be hoisted over the deck to the second floor. Everything was planned and executed. Seriously, these guys were fantastic and we highly appreciated their work and would recommend them in a heartbeat. For reference we moved at the beginning of April 2023."
"This is my first experience with professional movers and I'm wondering why I waited so long! They were professional and courteous from start to finish while handling everything from larger pieces to pictures. Not only did I not lose or have anything broken, they finished in a fraction of the time it would of taken myself and my family, but it freed us up to clean and pack our last minute items, and then begin the unpacking phase of our move. I will never move again without these guys to help, not only saved me tons of time, I was able to unpack enough in the same day that it started to look like it was my house and i wasn't living out of boxes!! It was by far the best move I've ever had, Thanks Sinclair!"
"Sinclair is a sub-contractor of Mayflower moving. While the initial experience with Cecelia was pleasant, she promised things that just did not happen. Our move occurred in June of this year. We booked with Sinclair/Mayflower a few months in advance. Day of our move the driver showed up and told us that he could not take all of our belongings because the last customers were a few thousand pounds over their estimated weight. He also told us that he was surprised that no one from Sinclair or Mayflower had told us as he had called a few days prior to let them know that our move could not be 100% accommodated. Julie, our move coordinator, was extremely unresponsive. Couldn't reach her day of the move. No one checked in or let us know how to proceed. We were renting and our lease was up in a few days...we were also set to leave PA for WA the next day with out 5 week old infant. Thankfully Jarrod, our driver, was able to contact someone who came to get the second truck load of our belongings the next day. Fast forward a week, we receive our first truck load...the movers were supposed to being essentials but instead we received our Christmas decorations and storage from the garage along with one couch and a mattress. They neglected to bring the crib/baby items or any clothes from our master bedroom. I suspect this is because we lived on the third and fourth floor of a duplex and the movers didn't want to carry everything down that many stairs...so they left it for the movers coming the following day. I get that its a ton of work, but to neglect to bring necessities is not okay...especially when you are paying upwards of $17,000 for a cross-country move. Meanwhile the second truck load was sitting in a storage facility in New Jersey. Apparently even though our items were picked up, no one told us that they would be living in a storage facility indefinitely until they could find a driver. For the next few weeks we called Julie at Sinclair everyday...she never had any update for us. Nor did she ever reach out to us for any updates. The only way we were able to get our items was by contacting Mayflower's general counsel and Sarah White at customer service (who was the only highlight of our move and very helpful). Our items were eventually delivered Mid-July and many items were damaged either from movers (there was a ring mark on our dresser like someone left a soda can on it?) or sitting in the heat in a warehouse in the middle of summer. Luckily by dealing with their lawyer and Sarah we were able to get some compensation, but truthfully not nearly enough to make up for what we had to spend on accommodations and necessities while waiting for the second truck that came 4 weeks after our delivery spread was set to end....and 2 months after the items were picked up. All in all I would caution anyone to use Sinclair after this experience, we certainly never will again. Specifically do not have Julie as your move coordinator she was impossible to communicate with and never called us back when she said she would etc. While Cecelia was great to work with, she is a sales person and at the end of the day does not do anything to coordinate your move whatsoever."
"I used Sinclair to move from Philadelphia to Virginia and it was a fantastic experience. The estimator was very thorough and gave great advice. The crew was outstanding - they went out of their way to protect my stuff. I saw them put extra tape on heavy boxes, tighten legs on (already assembled) furniture, and they even asked me to open a box where they thought something was broken (it wasn't). Use them - you won't regret it!"
"I hired Sinclair Moving and Storage (contracted by Mayflower aka Unigroup) to move my one bedroom apartment from Philadelphia to Miami. Below are the highlights of my experience thus far with my move: 1. On the day of move, I was told that nobody had informed the movers that they would need to pack my fragile items, even though I communicated that directly with the sales agent at time of proposal and contract draft. I ended up paying another almost 1000.00 to have my items packed. My move was delayed one day because of this. 2. I was given a guaranteed delivery day in Florida of 11 days after pickup, however my shipment did not arrive until TEN DAYS after the GUARANTEED date. The move coordinator informed me that my items had been sitting in the warehouse in New Jersey until the day of expected delivery in Florida because they could not find a container for my items to ship down. Unacceptable. 3. One of my large furniture pieces (my dresser) was shipped to ARIZONA instead of Florida. I have STILL NOT received it and the estimate for arrival at the warehouse in Florida is over 1 month after it was picked up in Philadelphia. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. 4. I was delivered the completely wrong mattress. Nobody knows where my mattress is and I am left with somebody else's mattress. Disgusting. 5. Significant damage to multiple pieces of furniture including end tables and cocktail tables. The claims process is a nightmare. 6. Customer service is absent at this company - I asked the moving coordinator to speak with a supervisor multiple times and my request was unanswered and avoided. Please avoid this company as I would not want anyone to go through the horrendous experience I have gone through so far."
