"DO NOT LIVE HERE!! I have never wanted to be this person, but this is also because I have never HAD to be this person. Since moving in to CastIron Lofts there have continuously been problems- problem after problem. Last year it was the elevators that went down at least once a week. Mind you I live on the top floor so walking up and/or down 21 flights of stairs is not easy or fun. Sometimes we wouldn’t even get a courtesy email letting us know, so it would just be a gamble walking to the elevator on your floor like “will it be broken or working this time?” I will say the elevator situation has gotten a lot better, now it only breaks down maybe once every 2 months. The other annoying thing is maintenance. Our sink was leaking and our showers were clogged (this happens often, as well), so we placed a maintenance request for both problems to be fixed. Once they finally came to fix it (after like 3-4 days this one instance) they fixed the sink but did not fix our showers. So we had to place a maintenance request again. Every time one thing breaks, they finally fix it and then something else breaks!!! This brings me to another point of something that was broken. The parking garage door this morning! I was leaving for work and the garage literally had me and my roommate blocked in the parking garage. We were told that there was a power outage and they were “working on it” (same sob story we got as when the elevators were down once a week). I went to the front lobby to ask for a supervisor/ manager’s number and the lady at the front desk told me she’s “not authorized to give out their phone number.” So I was left to literally wait there until the door opened and I could leave the parking garage and go to work. Thankfully that happened promptly (but I was told that the door wasn’t working for 1.5 hours). I must also mention that the parking garage costs $285 per month :) Lastly if this wasn’t enough, the icing on the cake is the pool policy. Monday-Thursday is free but Friday, Saturday, and Sunday EACH guest costs $20 to bring to the pool. And you have to email management prior to bringing your guest. God forbid you just show up to the pool without sending an email! It hasn’t been 200% horrible living here but I would strongly consider these things before moving in- just be prepared to deal with multiple maintenance and other issues that you wouldn’t have to deal with anywhere else.
