"I am appalled and deeply disappointed by the severe lack of responsibility displayed by the management of this building, which I was unfortunate enough to call home during that time. On June 13th, a devastating water pipe burst in the trash room and 17P, leading to catastrophic flood damage that spread across the entire floor, from 17P to 17A, B, C, and onwards. The incident, which occurred in the wee hours of the morning, resulted in significant property loss for many residents, including myself. Despite an immediate report of the issue, the management showed a shocking level of indifference and didn't take immediate action. It was some resident who called 911 who came to shut down the water. For our part, we suffered a loss of thousands in value. Our personal belongings, from computers and hard drives to clothes, shoes, books, and furniture, were all ruined by the water, which stood 2.5 inches high on the floor. The distressing response from the building management? An outright refusal to compensate us for our lost property. Adding insult to injury, the remedial measures taken by the building have further exacerbated our suffering. Our apartment has been filled with high-frequency fans and a deafening dehumidifier that has rendered our living space practically unlivable. We have to shout to communicate, and getting a good night's sleep or working from home is simply impossible. Despite the disruption to our lives and our inability to live comfortably in our unit, the management has refused to cover the cost of temporary accommodation or provide alternate lodging. Any attempts to engage them in conversation failed to lead to material actions. Furthermore, the aftereffects of the flood were felt throughout the building. False fire alarms were triggered due to water entering the fire room, and the elevators were non-functional for two days, causing severe inconvenience in a 32-story building! The communal amenities, including the gym and club room, remain closed until further notice. Between June 13th and September 31st, they sent at least 6 groups of people, including insurance assessing companies and other third parties, to our units to evaluate the significance of the floor damage and the mold under the floor. Every single one of these experts confirmed the dire state of our apartment — all of them stated that our floors needed to be reinstalled and marked the area due to the severe mold situation. Yet, before we moved out, the building management failed to act on this advice and never reinstalled the floor. What is most upsetting is the lack of transparency and communication from the management. We have been left in the dark, uninformed about what steps are being taken to rectify the situation, and left to bear the losses on our own. Lastly, the evaluators were not functioning properly ever since the flooding. And almost 6 months later, they still haven't fixed the elevators. In fact, it's getting much worse, as evidenced by the elevator nightmare on Tuesday December 5. These experiences have exposed the severe failings of the management, demonstrating their complete disregard for residents' welfare. It is beyond unacceptable and displays a total lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic human decency. I implore anyone considering this building as a future home to think twice. The negligence shown here is truly unthinkable."
"OH MY GOSH!! love love love this building. I had a 2 year lease, and if it wasn't for a new job opportunity, I would not be moving out. Management is amazing, ESPECIALLY KATHY!!! Any time I had a loose toilet seat, a burnt out light, or in need of a washing machine reset, maintenance was at my door to fix it so quickly and kindly. I have so many positive things I want to say and I don't want to seem like one of those phony people that raves about a place and really doesn't mean it, BUT I'm going to rave and I mean every word of it! This is the building you want to live in if you want to live in jersey city. I lived at 70 Greene, and 389 Washington, none of those compared to The One. It's literally in the name."
"I have been living here for 5 months and my experience as a tenant in this building is awful. I feel compelled to bring these serious issues to anyone who is considering moving in this building. 1. Severe Plumbing Issues: (See Pics Attached.) The building encountered a serious instance of pipe burst and subsequent water leakage on June 13th. There is water all over the floor and the wall and floor all have to be replaced. The slow pace of repair work exacerbated the situation. Shockingly, it took a month for the maintenance team to cut open the wall and fix the issue, and the reason for that is the maintenance team FORGET my apartment!!! even after my formal request in the building system and the 1st inspection of the maintenance team. 2. Elevator Malfunction: Of the four elevators servicing the building, one has been out of operation for over two months now. The prolonged delay in fixing this elevator has caused significantly long waiting time every single time I need to go to office in the morning. This is not only frustrating but also reflects poorly on the building's management and maintenance service quality. 3. Frequent Water Shut offs: During the short span of five months since I moved in, the water supply has been shut off for maintenance on three separate occasions. It is disheartening to see such disregard for tenants' basic living conditions especially the elevator maintenance. I hope anyone who considers renting an apartment here have a thorough consideration. After all, there are plenty of similar apartments nearby. FYI."
"We have been living here for 6 years. Used to love this building but last 6 months building is going through hell, since there was a massive water leak in June. Elevators don’t work. People getting stuck in elevators every few days. Wait time for elevators could go upto 10 minutes. And there is no announcement from management when something breaks in the building. Parking charges are random with hidden unannounced increases. You always have to keep checking your auto payments. Until management addresses these issues I won’t change my rating. And based on past experience they won’t do anything."
"In the Journey if existence I reached the chapter of 30 years, and had to face very difficult questions that would determine and have a profound effect in my future. Did I wanna continue living in Brooklyn and rave often with models, energized by drugs and alcohol in a pool of lustful sensation; or should I move to Jersey City, slow down, get a dog and become just another person in a tower with another thousand adults their babies and their dogs? Edit: after a year living here, I love the apartment, the door and maintenance staff is amazing. the management kinda sucks so hopefully you never need them coz interacting with them is awful."
