"I recently moved into Spring Street Commons and it is easily the best apartment I’ve lived in in the NYC metro area. It is in the heart of downtown Newark.There’s a gym to get that heart rate up and a rooftop with a grill to chill and hangout. The common areas are kept tidy by a cleaning team that comes to clean daily. Also, i haven’t seen or heard of any reports of insects or rodents, which is important to me. It is very easy to commute within Jersey or to NYC with the train station being a 6 min walk, and multiple bus lines steps away. Also, SSC throw really nice mixers for the residents."

"Me and my fiancé stayed here for a year. It is the worst place ever. Apartment 509 is right under the rooftop. There are parties every week, loud music and people working out on the rooftop comes through your apartment. The building come with a small gym, but it is always somebody in it working out and playing music loud with a loud speaker, and the hallway always smells like weed. There is poor management. We called them for a door knob replacement, it took them six months to come replace it. The building uses cheap paint where every time we touch the walls it leaves a stain on the wall. Additionally, you have to pay for parking and are given assigned parking spots, but somebody always parking in your assigned spot. The property manager is nice, but the problems are far too much. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!!!"

"I stayed at this Airbnb between May 15th and 21st 2022. I was in New Jersey to attend a family wedding. The reviews of this accommodation were stellar, especially with respect to location, cleanliness and value for money. I was very disappointed with certain vital aspects of this accommodation. 1. Our chosen apartment (which could accommodate 6 people and had two bedrooms) was changed without my request or consent to a studio flat that accommodated only 4 people. This change was made less than a week before my arrival and was communicated to us via an email ‘after’ I had paid the entire amount that was due for the stay in the original accommodation. Unacceptable. 2. We checked-in on the afternoon of May 15th 2022. When we retired to bed that night, I pulled the comforter and sheet down. What it revealed was human hair of varying lengths, colours and contour (straight and curly). We had to strip out the entire covers and make our own bed with some of the laundered sheets in the closet. We also had to take-off the mattress protector which also had human hair embedded in it. A couple of extra sheets that were neatly folded in the closet had been used and unlaundered. We managed to find two unused sheets to make our bed for the nights we stayed. 3. Due to being busy with the wedding, we did not mention this to the Airbnb owner until three days after check-in. When the person called us back, she said she would provide us with sets of clean sheets. She completely missed the point. 4. Noise levels: None of the reviews mentioned anything about noise levels. This is very surprising and questions the validity and authenticity of the reviews on the Airbnb website. The accommodation is right next to a very busy freeway. It was impossible to sleep with the noise of the traffic all night, which included cars with booming music racing past all through the night. The light pollution through the blinds was also incredibly high. If you want a well-rested holiday, please find another accommodation. 5. We were also charged $52 for an ‘early check-in’. We checked-in earlier by 30 minutes - an early check-in fee for beds that had been made with ‘used’ sheets. 6. Airbnbs such as this charge the customer, a hefty ‘cleaning fee’. I am unsure where or what the previous client’s and my cleaning fee went towards. It certainly wasn’t a clean bed. Pandemic or not, the accommodation should be clean and hygienic. In summary, I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone else nor would I stay here again. Since we were there for a happy occasion, we glossed-over these unacceptable standards despite the hefty price of more than $2000 for a six-night stay. I have photographs taken at that time which I can share with the owner, on request."
