"I have never been so happy with a workplace in general, let alone in the therapy field. Whether you've already been working as an IIC/BA or you're new to the field or coming from a different level of care, I've found that ASAPP management will work with you through any transitions. Everyone is thoroughly supportive and you never feel like a burden for asking questions of any nature, while still keeping the independence of the IIC position. I love walking into the office because people actually know who I am and can greet me by name, which you don't get at a lot of IIC agencies. They've even supported me through conflicts based on their knowledge of who I am as a person and a therapist. No one makes you feel bad if you make a mistake; they are always focused on the positive and ways to better support you. In my interview, I said I was surprised to have such a thorough, in-person interview, because some agencies just call and ask if you have a license and when you can start. The response I got was, "This interview is as much for you as it is for us. If you're not happy, we're not happy". My orientation was easy and useful—I learned several things that simplified my life even though I had already been in this role with another agency for over a year. I am an LAC currently approaching completion of my supervised hours. ASAPP offers free supervision but was happy to accommodate me bringing my own privately employed supervisor too. Monthly supervision meetings for Medicaid compliance give you a great opportunity to actually get to know other employees, and their employee parties are great for this as well! As an IIC, I can get to know the personality of the BAs which is great since sometimes you never get to meet a BA you work with in person! The pay is competitive and fair. Invoices are due twice per month (pay biweekly) and physical encounter forms are due monthly. Progress notes are submitted electronically—no printing! Service delivery encounter forms are populated for you so you don't have to fill out page 1 for yourself, just sign it (can't tell you how much time this saves me). Their intake forms are organized and practical and include a "consent for transportation" form to help protect you from liability in transporting youth. You are permitted to use your preferred evidence-based screening tools (ex. CSSRS) and management is always open to new ideas, big or small. Care managers even tell me how much they love working with ASAPP, which ensures plentiful referrals! You can take the number of cases that suits you without pressure to keep taking more; however, they check back in every so often to see if you have any openings, so you're never forgotten either! When asked to take a case, you first get to know what town it is in, how many hours per week, the general clinical concerns and the age and gender of the child. I have grown so much in my time at ASAPP (close to 1.5 years by now) and feel so professionally fulfilled. I can't say enough good things."
