Oaks Integrated Care - Mental Health Urgent Care

"I was in very difficult time in my life dealing with depression and family situations. Was referred to this facility by my personal physician to get medication evaluated. Oaks completely dealt with me immediately as soon as I entered the facility with compassion and helpfulness. At therapy sessions with Christine and case worker, Natasha, I was feeling better after each visit and was offered ways to improve my situation. My medication was evaluated and changed for my needs by the Doctor. The help that Oaks Integrated provided me, pulled me out of a very bad situation I was facing. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. They facilitated me immediately and efficiently and my life is now going upward."

"If you’re SOL and without therapy or a psychiatrist and need a new start, I do suggest you come here they did help me. Lisa and Natasha were absolutely amazing. Lisa is the therapist here and Natasha is your case manager she will get you where you need to go next once you finish the program. My opinion on the psychiatrist Dr. Madu? Well, My psychiatrist retired and I needed my medication adjusted. He seemed stand offish because he was unfamiliar with the one medication and the other was a high milligram. He seemed to judge me from the start. Little story from my past, my sister died to drug related complications, she got hooked because she self medicated. She was scared of facing shallow and judgmental psychiatrists such as him. Madu is a horrible fit for the company. He will chase patients looking for actual help and scare them to the streets to possibly parish. I hope they do away with him. If you need to go here, and feel uncomfortable discussing something with him, I suggest asking Lisa or Natasha to accompany you."

"The counselor and staff are great. The MD is a complete joke. I came here for help and was re-traumatized by that quack they call an Md. if you’re not on drugs and they can’t use that as the reason why you have mental health issues.. don’t waste your time. The MD aggressively and repeatedly told me I was on drugs… and then wanted to prescribe serious psych meds within 20 minutes of meeting me. There’s no true mental health here only drug pushers."

"Former Client, NEVER AGAIN. My review was my experience as well as my mothers. The company was made aware of all of this and ultimately stopped responding. My review is based off of my last visit June/July of 2021. Things may have changed but I won't ever know. They were quick to diagnose for conditions even if you do not meet the Diagnostic Criteria for the disorder in my and one other's expierience!!! They pushed medication to treat the shallow diagnosis and wrong disorder. The one physician got mad at me and personally insulted when I said I don't agree with their Diagnosis and treatment of the wrong Diagnosis. Their evaluation was super shallow and pinhole focused on a diagnosis of their choosing. The amount of gaslighting i experienced was unreal. If your crisis does not involve bi-polar, anxiety, or depression, please go somewhere else. Some unethical practices (in my opinion) were witnessed. Thank goodness I did not listen to their gaslighting as I could have been subjected to their willingness to play brain chemist on my brain with meds for another condition. Not to fail to mention the "therapist" was looking at her schedule while I was answering a deep question she asked me and stated "ugh this guy is back again.." Straight up unprofessional. IN MY EXPERIENCE and that of my mother there are Possibly DANGEROUS diagnosis and medication prescribing practices that may lead people to wrongful diagnosis and exposure to unnecessary medication with side effects some of which include suicidal ideation. They were quick to Diagnose and want to give medication without fully ruling out other possibilities. Because of the foundation Oaks established for my mother, for 2 years she suffered from a wrong diagnosis and medication prescription. This is dangerous because if I went to a doctor and they told me my chest pain was asthma without checking for a heart issue, it could lead to bigger problems. Like wise if I was never checked for a heart issue and they only prescribed asthma medication they could be causing some real harm with wrong medications in any other setting. Mental health facilities should be held to the same standard as any other healthcare practice. They claim to be for mental crisis stabilization; however, PLEASE NOTE they do not deal with all crisis as I was told "we don't do that here" nor do they properly rule in or out all conditions resulting in a possible misdiagnosis or wrongful prescriptions. I was told they do not evaluate for certain mental health conditions. No reason as to why they were not qualified not to. This does not entirely mean you may have had the wrong diagnosis or treatment; however, the potential is very possible there given what i've seen, experienced, and discussed with staff. Please consult with your physician or mental health professional should you believe you have been wrongfully evaluated. If you are in psychosis or unstable you may not be reading this but please seek help at your nearest healthcare facility (i.e. Bridgeton psych hospital or Inspira). We all deserve access to fair, ethical, and safe mental healthcare."
