"I was grateful that Nancy offered a consultation to determine whether working with her would be a good fit. But after the first session I could feel I needed to work with someone with a different approach. I made her aware I wouldn't be continuing, cancelled future appointments and requested an invoice. She told me she does billing at the end of the month but of course the end of the month came and went and no invoice. I emailed a week ago and received no reply. Now I have to reimburse my FSA for the payment before they deactivate my account since I have no information that the payment was for a health service and nothing to submit to my insurance. I should have known better than to use an out of network provider who only takes payments on Venmo. Unprofessional. UPDATE: A month later still no invoice but I did receive an email from Nancy and I'll share the gist here with my comments and corrections: She was made aware of my Yelp review (it's on Google) and found it unfortunate I never received the invoice that her office admin mailed to my address (I didn't and she had said she would email it). She further found it unfortunate I didn't reach out when I didn't receive it, she could have sent a copy (I did, she never replied, THIS message is a reply to that ignored follow up actually). She further goes on to defend Venmo (many professionals use digital pay services, even prior to COVID, but no one I know uses Venmo. Beyond that I can see Nancy charging clients for "Therapy" in the app so I'm guessing that's a violation of privacy, confidentiality, ethics, HIPAA and possibly Venmo's TOS). What was not included in this message was an apology, solution or the copy of the invoice she herself mentions! I don't know what would possess someone to send such a rude and ignorant message to a (former) client but clearly this is an individual with serious issues who is incapable of helping anyone. So glad I trusted my gut and ran away quickly! It actually looks like the name of the business listed here was changed to just "Therapy", instead of Modern Wisdom... I assume to try and hide the reviews."

"I feel so much more depressed after seeing therapist Nancy Law than I did when I went in. She's a mess. She was distracted. She cried about her husband's failed business the whole session. I mostly helped her - she should've paid me. And yet, she charged me for a full session and tried to go ahead and charge me for the two more sessions! I was shocked at how unprofessional she is. It took finding another therapist and over a month for me to recover from Nancy's "help". Avoid at all cost."
