"Not sure this place even exists. Impossible to get a hold of. Website doesn't work. "Operators are busy" and "full voicemail" whenever you try to call. They should be ashamed of themselves."

"Ive been to a few mental health centers and therapists over the years, and none were as disorganized and harmful to their patients and their staff as Portrait Health. This review is long & is a warning to those seeking Portrait Health as a workplace and those seeking mental health service I have had 3 counselors in my time here. The first 2 were kind people who were getting their hours after obtaining a degree. They were helpful to me, yet a little over their heads working with someone who has been in the mental health system before, as they were still working on a lot of real life experience as a counselor before getting officially licensed This is important to note, as the reason I had 3 counselors total under Portrait Health is because the first two women had quickly seen how horribly Portrait Health is run before leaving to join another, hopefully better place, and I was placed in the care of another counselor. Portrait Health does not have a secretary at the front to handle payment for your sessions and to assist with scheduling, availability etc. That work is left to the counselors and therapists who work there, and is facilitated by a call center for the larger company, who deal with other cases outside of your specific Portrait Health branch. This leads to a whole slew of miscommunications and improper management Many times my counselor was unaware of any schedule change I made by calling the company & payments I made over the phone. I had to text or call my counselor on their phone directly to make any changes to schedule, which is something I have never had to do. Largely, whenever I made a payment to Portrait Health, it somehow went unrecorded or wasn't properly updated. I was subject to calls by the company asking for payments I have already made and being confused about what I genuinely owed them and what I already paid. I am honestly unsure if I have paid more than I actually owed them. When I canceled services with a counselor entirely, this went uncommunicated, the counselor continually fining me for "missed appointments" I should not have actually attended and debt with Portrait Health I should not have had. I called them 3 times to let them know I would not be working with this counselor anymore & this STILL wasnt communicated. & good luck getting someone to answer your call in the first place It is also important to note for this review that I am transgender, and just a small & non-focal part of the help I was attempting to get was someone to talk to about this. While the counselors I spoke to were listed as LGBT knowledgeable under their "specialties" I found that every counselor I have had in Portrait Health were, while accepting, largely did not know how to help me in any way. I was the one who provided a lot of knowledge & resources to them to spread to their future patients. Occasionally I was misgendered and had to correct them. The 2 of my first counselors were good people & they assisted me, but were not LGBT knowledgeable The 3rd counselor I had here was a woman named Bonnie Stevens. Bonnie touts herself as being transgender knowledgeable and has worked with many trans people in the past at another company she works at. Despite this she was the counselor I was most uncomfortable with. When I mentioned I was a transgender man, she seemed to not understand what I even meant & asked me to specify what that means, saying she "wouldnt judge either way". She referred to trans women as "men seeking female hormones", told me that my name would take "some getting used to" despite only knowing her for 20 mins & made the session about my transition & "all the dangers of HRT", already attempting to sway me from seeking it despite me not bringing it up outside of saying "Im transgender" and it not relevant to why I was seeking treatment, outside of knowing who I am on a base level. She spoke very largely about herself the entire session and related many of my issues to her own life If u are still seeking therapy with Portrait Health after this review at the very least stay away from Bonnie Stevens"

"Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Was asked to come a day early for my initial appointment and was told the person I was seeing wasn't even in today after waiting 45 mins. Called numerous times to find out what’s going on and no one has returned my phone calls. FIND A PLACE THAT ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT ITS CLIENTS."
