"Had my 23 year old son took to this practice was seen by a physician assistant and he proceeded to inject steroid into periodontal cyst lower back the next day I was in so much pain went to hospital where I had a severe infection and was admitted few days. Riverview Surgeon worked on my lower back said that Dr Rao office physician assistant should of never injected steroid into my infected cyst that they screwed up and should. Be reported"
"After 6+ years of medical services with the same insurance coverage I arrive at my scheduled appointment and THEN was told my insurance carrier was not accepted by the doctor. It was unprofessional and discourtious to not be informed by the doctor's office PRIOR to appointment. Total disregard of my time."
"After my initial visit, I was told I would get the results of my biopsy in 2-3 weeks. After two weeks had passed, I called them to see if they had received the results. They had received the results NINE DAYS before I called and did not bother to notify me. It turns out that I was having an allergic reaction. That means there were NINE DAYS that I was potentially exposing myself to a harmful allergen that could have easily been avoided had anyone at this office cared to do their job. I don’t ever leave reviews, but the shear indifference to this type of oversight makes me feel the need to warn others to stay away."
"My main takeaway from my visit was that no one working here cares about anything but giving you a prescription and leaving as quickly as possible. SIDE NOTE: THE FRONT DESK WOMEN DO NOT EVEN WEAR THEIR MASKS CORRECTLY. One had their mask half on and the other had hers laying off of her chin. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. My time with the "Dr" lasted about 2 minutes tops and I was extremely disappointed. I had questions, I wanted to know more about why I was having different kinds of acne on my face, etc. but when I asked questions I was given a very simple quick answer and it seemed like she was in a complete rush, meanwhile there were a cluster of workers in the back obnoxiously laughing and chatting. It wasn’t busy. She gave me a prescription and left without fully answering any of my questions. I work at a fast food restaurant and give my customers more attention and care than I received here. I will not be returning, it was a complete waste of my time. For whatever reason I never had this issue when I used to attend with my mother, guess they think they don't have to respect me as a young adult. Funny how medical “professionals” get paid so much money for literally 2 minutes of their time and a prescription handed over like it’s nothing."
"DO NOT RECOMMEND. STAY FAR AWAY!!!! Needing a dermatologist, I called my Insurance company to get an in-network provider locally. They provided Rao Dermatology as the closest in-network dermatologist, so I called up to make an appointment. It took several back and forth calls to ensure that Dr. Rao did in fact, take my insurance - I verified their NPI number with my insurance company, then called the doctor's office and gave them all my information. They called me back after confirming my coverage, then scheduled an appointment 4 weeks in the future. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told "we don't take your insurance." I pointed out that my insurance was verified before the appointment, and I would not have been able to make an appointment without verifying the insurance. When I asked to speak to the staff person who verified my insurance before making the appointment, I was told they were not working today. I was told by the manager that the doctor only took my insurance in another office that he no longer went to, and I would have to pay the full amount. I called my insurance company, who told me that my visit WOULD be covered at the location I was at. However, it was only after the front desk person gave my insurance company a COMPLETELY NEW NPI NUMBER did I realize this was all a sham and a colossal waste of time. I wasted an hour and a half today, plus all the phone calls to set this up and confirm things ahead of time. SUMMARY: If they tell you on the phone they take your insurance, don't believe them. The office just wants to waste your time and make you feel frustrated and stupid."
