Reviews of Riverdale Mental Health Clinic
"Back at my experience with RMHA none of these people who works at Riverdale pros is honest enough to listen what we are all going through mentally, spiritual and even physically so I'm really glad that I'm not there anymore because when I was there they are careless to us as clients and the only thing that they do care about is getting PAID FOR ALL THE VERY WRONG REASONS SO THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN FOR GOOD"
"Absurdly disorganized. Multiple missed appointments (on their end). Staff is very friendly but seemingly does not communicate with each other whatsoever"
"I can only speak for my experience with my mom as an elder mental patient. I reached out after months of no luck in Manhattan seeking a therapist and psych for my mom who had a crisis in winter 2018. This clinic called me 2 days after i emailed them. We had Lissette as a therapist and she was wonderful. She has since left and my mom started doing psycho therapy at home due to limited mobility. We are still with her psych in the midst of the pandemic for now 3 years and I am happy. Sometimes I have to clarify a point here and there with the pysch. I think sometimes they get caught up knowing everything they know and unintentionally forget we lay people are struggling and also feel pain with our loved one experiencing mental illness. The point is it takes a community and so long as everyone is willing to communicate and actually listen we can all move forward together. As the daughter of an elderly patient with mental illness my experience has been good but you need to step up and advocate for your loved one and do follow up. When any doctor who is respectable sees you are involved they will also do their best. So overall no complaints. I am glad i decided to venture out of Manhattan to the Bronx and found a great place."
"I went for one on one therapy and was extremely pleased with my therapist. She was excellent, caring, kind, compassionate and was always concerned about my well being. Sadly I could not continue going due to changes in insurance. I haven't been able to find anyone as good as her since. My only complaint is that this facility only seems to accept Medicaid/managed care and not other major insurances. But I think the reason for that is that their services are more geared towards special cases such as Veterans, disabled etc. Update: My review is based on treatment before this clinic was acquired by Mosaic Health."
"The staff here does not listen to the needs of their clients. I was discharged when I told them that I was having medical appointments scheduled during classes. They didn't tell me I was discharged until last month and I had been discharged since may. I signed up for classes in may and was told that I was graduating out. I was told by the director to my face that I could still go to classes but would not be registered. They are putting the blame on me when I kept telling all the staff at pros that my medical staff for my independent living was scheduling my medical appointments during class times. I had even given my medical team the schedule of my classes and said not to schedule appointments during classes. My health has been tricky I have suffered migraines and have a heart condition not to mention high cholesterol. I was seeking treatment for these conditions and told staff at pros. I guess my health didn't matter. Now that I'm discharged I'm on edge and very moody. I was treated very rudely and should not have been treated the way I was."
