Surf Motel

"Stayed for Barefoot Country Music Festival from Thursday to Monday. Tried to leave Monday morning at 6 am for a family emergency however was unable to leave until 8:20am. The office had a memo on the door for immediate assistance please call a number for Manager as they stay on premises. After about 10 phone calls and 5 or 6 voicemails. I gave up. The issue was due to lack of parking so management took your car keys and parked in staffing area or overflow lot. Even after staff arrived at 8am the one person with keys to office was not there yet. Upon arrival I got my keys and headed out to my car. My small Cruz was blocked in by a large Chevy Excursion and the staff was unable to locate the owners keys at the time. After a few minutes of maneuvering my car I was able to get around the large SUV and poles in the car port parking area. Places can charge astronomical amounts of money for your stay during an event in this crazy world we live in of supply and demand. I don't mind paying for quality however the sign of the managers office upon arrival on Thursday said to be patient with them due to staff shortage for any early check in. Understandably it's difficult to get people this day and age to work with all the government handouts however for those of us that do work we still except to get what we pay for. No one to clean our rooms, get fresh linens or towels, hell we had to ask for an additional roll of toilet paper for a 4 night stay. As an owner or manager someone needs to step up and do a better job of customer service. As an owner or manager you either are present in your role and do the work yourself or pay someone enough money to get the job done. Stop making excuses, you chose this line of work. If it's too much, it's time to sell and get out."

"This motel could be awesome. With a little updating and a deep cleaning. Our refrigerator's seal was broken, freezer inside completely filled with frost. Dirty hand prints all over the doors. Smudged mirrors and tv. The location is ideal. And the price was great for the location. The air conditioner was great. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but wish the room was cleaner. This place has a lot of potential, if the owners would just put a little money in to it."

"I cannot believe when you call a motel over 2 months before going that you cannot cancel for a full refund! Especially under a medical necessity! Highly disgusted with the way my situation was handled by the owners. Do not book this hotel bc they do not follow the Jersey laws when it comes to cancellation of a reservation. Seems to be hurting for money which does not look good for a hotel."

"The great proximity to the beach and boardwalk just can’t outdo the poor quality and maintenance of this motel. This place reminded me of a great-grandma’s house that hasn’t had one update since the 1940s. The bathtub, sink, and even the medicine cabinet - rusted. How about a TV that was made in this century? Free wifi? nope! There is NO wifi. Sure, we were given a password for the wifi but there was no connection. If you want to hang out in the pool at night, you can’t! It closes at 6pm. The price just isn’t worth it; do yourself a favor and stay someplace that has more than three pictures on their website."

"The staff was very friendly but unfortunately was very disappointed with the room. The pool was dirty, the door was rusty with duct tape all around it, the TV was old and small, all of the windows were rusty, the bathroom mirror was broken, the bathroom mirror light was broken, the mirror also was rusty around the edges, the sink drain was clogged up (told front desk and they never came), the shower barely worked and it smelled like mildew everywhere. Other than it was close to the boardwalk that was the only nice thing about this hotel. Also the office was like a small messy room the size of a bathroom and disorganized. Staff was very friendly when we checked in. Extremely disappointed. Im glad I brought my own pillow and linens, I wouldn't trust if they were washed due to the way everything else looked. I paid about 150.00 a night with tax and fees and definitely know there was better, cleaner and cheaper hotels."
