Reviews of St. Johns Riverside Hospital ParkCare Pavilion
"Disgustingly dirty, but surprisingly good staff. There are three wonderful Black ladies who work on the 3rd floor detox: Toki, Kathy, and one other whose name I forget (I'll update the review if I remember. She's a counselor, older and distinguished looking, wears glasses). Sorry if I got you in trouble Toki. I have a script for Suboxone now and I'm staying good."
"Worst experience of my life women working there have the most disrespectful manners and talk to clients very nasty, making it feel like jail instead of a helping program.....then the only thing that concerned them was covid related instead of the patients well being!!!!completely disgusting place, also smelled really bad."
"Beware. Especially when you are black and darkskin and dealing with mental heath the area clinics in yonkers are prescribing BUPAR , when this drug is discontinued and off the market. . This medication is poison. Also Beware of staff labeling Black People as methadone patients. They are trying to label us with mental illness , so they can proceed getting us in the hospital to experiment on us. Black People please look out for each other and be super aware."
"My family member was discharged from the hospital to go to rehab. He is on heart medication and blood thinners. They had him waiting from 2pm until after midnight to be admitted. They did not give him his much needed medication and I had to pick him up at 1230am to take him home. Now he does not even want to go to rehab because of this experience. This place is horrible. The staff, especially the lady in admitting is very nasty. Not a good luck when you're the face of the company. DO NOT send your loved ones here. I still haven't gotten his medication. This happened 7 hours ago. I am going crazy trying to get him his medication and the pharmacy doesnt open until 9am. This place really sucks."
"St. John's is a 95% Medicaid/Medicare funded facility. I think people overlook that it is the patients, not the staff, that create the atmosphere and living conditions- ie, if your roommate insists on completely destroying the bathroom with urine and feces and flushing paper towels down the toilet clogging it EVERY DAMN DAY, you can't expect the medical staff to rush right in and clean it up. That's a union issue. Only housekeeping can do the cleanup. It has been my experience that simply being thankful, respectful and cleaning up after yourself goes a very long way with the staff. When the staff sees that someone just wants to start the journey towards recovery from addiction, nearly 100% will bend over backwards for you. And, just to point out, any company with a staff of over 100 will have its share of lemons. But you can't allow one under-performer be a reflection on the entire organization. These ratings are just unfair. If you put in the work to get better, the staff rewards you 10-fold. If you act like your entitled, and that Medicaid is YOUR money being misused- Wake UP. It's quality detox unit that you don't pay a single dime for out of your wallet. Hell, 50% of the patients there have never paid a dollar in taxes in their entire life."
