"I brought my daughter to see Miriam when she was about 15 months old because she was a late walker. My daughter was not pulling up on furniture or crawling on her knees. She would only army crawl around our house. Over the course of about 5-6 months with Miriam, my daughter started crawling, furniture surfing, walking, and then running. Every step of the way, Miriam was kind and patient. My strong willed daughter who initially wanted no part of going to PT, eventually ended up loving it and was excited to see Miriam each week. My daughter is now a little over 2 years old and as I watch her run around our home every day with her big sister, I’m reminded of how much Miriam helped her to grow."

She truly cares about the well-being of children, and I love how she educates me as the parent. It’s really been life changing working with her. He recently started seeing Karen as well for speech, and she is also an incredible person and amazing at what she does!! I can’t believe what she was able to evoke out of him in just one session with her. I’m so grateful for Karen and Miriam and I can’t sing their praises enough. "I love love love the therapists and this place! It was a bittersweet day today to say goodbye as my son no longer needed therapy thanks to the excellent teaching methods of Karen, Katie and Melissa! My son initially qualified for early intervention due to his lack of speech at less than 2 years old. They only sent in a general therapist to help him and I noticed no improvement and kept being told to keep doing sign language and the words would come later. I decided I knew something was not right with his speech and that early intervention was not working. I called a couple speech therapists around the area. Thank god Karen Betheil picked up the phone! She was the only speech therapist who actually asked me questions about my son and what was occurring etc. none of the other places thought to ask about the issue and instead only talked about their policies and pricing. I knew from that phone call that Karen really cared about her patients and would work to figure out what the problem and solution plan was. And I wasn’t wrong! She quickly understood Anthony had motor planning issues from observing how his mouth moved, how he ate, etc. it was such a relief to get a diagnosis and a plan to help him start to speak. We started when he was 2 and just finished at 3.5 years. You could never tell he had speech issues and couldn’t talk! Quickly he began to say sounds and words and eventually starting stringing words into sentences. I literally have cried over how much progress he quickly made and knew he was in good hands. Not only was Karen a great therapist, she was very easy to talk to and extremely caring. She really cares about the kid and what is going on in their life. She noticed his tonsils were large so when he needed to sip surgery she suggested to see if they would shave instead of remove the tonsils. The ENT he had did the shaving and recommended to and we couldn’t be happier as the healing process was smooth and shorter than it the tonsils were removed fully. She also knew exactly how to redirect my son who was extremely high energy and would lose focus. Anthony and I will miss her very much! He always looked forward to seeing her as he felt it was play time! Throughout Anthony’s therapy sessions with Karen, we noted his fine motor skills were not caught up with his age. He couldn’t press down on buttons on toys or put legos together or play with play doh etc. he also had a weak core. It turns out he had sensory issues which is why he gagged when he touched play doh. Melissa and Katie both worked with Anthony in occupational therapy and I also recommend them highly as well! They were so nice to work with and knew how to care and redirect my hyper son. He was very happy with them and looked forward to sessions with them too! They worked on puzzles and toys that would strengthen his core and made games that would strengthen and stabilize his body. He also learned to write and cut paper. He can now tolerate and play with play doh and makes pizzas out of it! He also was able to end occupational therapy as he met all the goals and is caught up with his age group! We also believe this may have helped with his speech therapy as well! I cannot recommend this place enough! They gave my son the ability to play and speak with his peers and live a happier life as he can finally do what the rest of the kids can do and is able to communicate with us! We love you guys!"
