"Horrible experience I would not recommend to anyone. Therapist are impersonal and services offered are not provided"
"I have been trying to submit the online form the past 2 days and the link either does not work or will not submit due to an error, which is why I’m using this platform instead of contacting directly. On 11/15 at 8a, I had called the what was referred to as the suicide hotline and I was greeted by a “Yeah” answering the phone, then when I asked to confirm that I was calling the psychiatric ER, the male voice said “ughhhh yeah this is the suicide hotline” As a mental health professional (not in crisis but calling for a colleague whose child was), I am appalled. Do better."
"Experienced a walloping from life a few weeks ago, desperately needed to see a therapist to get the intrusive thoughts and depressed thinking abated. Called a dozen or more different offices, no one had availability for weeks, some even months, til I ended up in the emergency room seeking some sort of help—just any professional to talk to. They couldn’t help me, but sent me here. Justin, my therapist, has been nothing but kind, considerate, and gentle with my treatment. Marie, my prescriber, has been the same. Even the office staff have been great at keeping in touch, helping with scheduling conflicts, forgiving when I missed an appointment cus of work, they’ve all been so accommodating. Good psychological care is hard to come by in our area.. I think I am safe to say I’ve found it here at St. Clare’s"
"I’m what you would call a “frequent flyer” here. Well at one point. Yes, they give quick appointments. However you won’t be able to see a prescriber for another week. IMO they should gather the information they need over the phone, and then schedule with a prescriber within 3 days. In a crisis scenario, that is the only way to prevent a hospitalization. I have a melting pot of issues, I’m dual diagnosis, mental illness and addiction disorders, physical illnesses, and hormonal problems. I’m very disturbed by the treatment I’ve received at this facility. One would think mental health counselors, as well as prescribers would know how to handle these types of issues without embarrassing humiliating or criticizing the patient. These “professionals” should know better!!! A lot of stigma exists in mental health, and I definitely shouldn’t be receiving it during “treatment.” Trust me, I judge myself enough. I’ve done the best I could with the hand I was dealt in life. I know how many doctors I’ve seen here, I know how many times I’ve violated probation, or gone to jail. I don’t need a reminder. It must be thought by shaming someone that they will stop and correct their behavior that is undesirable. We all know it’s more complex than that. I can honestly say, this place hasn’t helped me what so ever. When I was ready, and able to change my life I did, but no thanks to this place. I will say this, the 2 debs I worked with, they were the only non judgmental, and non stigmatizing people I worked with. The building has an aura of peacefulness. It will be quickly drowned out by commentary in the counseling session. Criticizing criminal behaviors, what meds I take, I was accused of stealing pens ( you know bc I’m a criminal, must have stolen the pens ), accused of being drunk because I used hand sanitizer, being asked if I’m from Newark with a bout of laughter, being sent for un necessary drug and alcohol tests when I was not ever there intoxicated. I had about a half dozen (at least) different psychiatric diagnoses read off to me, to humiliate and embarrass me. This is mental health people!! Your going to have a wide variety of clients. Not just the depressed housewife. You can’t hand pick your clients. If you want to run an exclusive practice and have “high end, high class” clients, then don’t take Medicaid. Very simple. I think all of you could benefit in a sensitivity course. I’m a very strong person whose overcame many struggles. Not all the people you treat are going to be that way. If you shame certain clients they may carry it for years, or worse kill themselves. Actions have consequences"
"This place needs to revisit their care. My therapist spent our initial meeting with her back to me typing info. Way to make someone feel welcome. As for the on-site nurse who prescribed pills and then never bothered to check up on me - get a new line of work. You are better off in group therapy instead of spending money to see these people. I left feeling worse & cut ties completely. Awful."
