"I am a former patient of Frawley Clinic, and when I was going there, the only issue I had was with the psychiatrist who always kept me waiting way after my appointment time even though I kept telling him I was getting there by rides from the ADA bus and I had to keep to their schedule when I made an appointment for a ride. A few times my ride left due before I even got to see the psychiatrist, which meant I had to find another way to get home. Elaine (the office manager who was always great/kind and caring to me) had found somebody who would be able to give me a ride home. As a matter of fact, the ride was from a taxi who I ended up using often for other things. He had even taken me to Long Island to where my parents are buried and even picked up my nephew who lives in New York City on the way. That may not matter to any of you, but at that time I was using a walker to use since I have Multiple Sclerosis and it was the only way for me to walk without falling down every few minutes. So, not only that drive to Long Island was I and my walker in the car, but my nephew who has Cerebral Palsy, brought along his crutches so that he could stand, plus he had his aide as well, in case he had any issues! The psychologist who I had been seeing there (Susan Hart), is a wonderful woman and doctor. She has a kind heart, and was very caring and understanding. I wish there were a way that I could go back there, however, I now live in a nursing home, and the nursing home will not allow me to go back to Frawley again due to the doctor I have here has lowered my dose of Xanax multiple times. I'm an honest person, so I'll explain the reason I had started going to Frawley Clinic. When I was 20 years old (I'm now 64 years old), I was diagnosed with High Anxiety, Chronic Depression and PTSD. From the ages of 20-35 I had tried different psychiatrists, none who would really listen to me, one who kept even changing the dose of Prozac which what he wanted me to be on even though I told him that it made me suicidal. I finally stopped going to him. Going to Frawley Clinic saved my life many times due to I had been suicidal a few times. Without them, I don't think I'd be around today. I hate the idea that due to being in this stupid nursing home won't let me go there. I see a psychologist here once a week for 20 minutes, while at Frawley my appointments were for 45 minutes. The reason I'm writing this review now is I had gotten a call from Elaine, she told me that she had thought about me and was wondering how I was doing. I felt tears in my eyes, I told her I missed her and going there and explained why I haven't been there for a few years. The world we live in now is a very scary place, and if you have any kind of mental health issues, you really need to make sure the professionals you see, really listen and care about you. Which is how I feel about Elaine and Susan. I know it's not easy getting appointments, but that is with every type of doctor you see now. If a doctor gives you even 10 minutes of their time, you are really lucky. If you are lucky enough to be able to get an appointment at Frawley Clinic, please know they do care about you. I'm "living " proof."
"I been trying to get in to this place for 2yrs. Left messages, finally got hold of someone a year later was put on a waiting list. Then 8 months later, I called to see where I was on list. No answer and no call back. So Called the person in charged Elaine and left several messages and I haven't got one call back! I really think this place is a joke. I been trying to get help from them so long ( 2 years). I am okay as of now, but really struggle with major depression and it's been hard. At least I'm somewhat strong enough to keep me from harming myself! I feel sorry for the people who aren't and need help and they call this place. They will never get help and sadly they might harm them selves. They talk about taking care our Mental Health in society but if this the help you get! Very sad and horrible. Sorry for all of us that really need help desperately! So, Don't bother going here! You'll never get help."
"A quote from a REAL mental health professional, to remind the staff at Frawley: "So what do people with BPD struggle with more than anything? On top of a disorder than can cause great suffering and that may lead 10% to suicide, they have us: Mental health providers who are uncaring, insensitive, and who by demonizing BPD, multiply exponentially the despair and loneliness of the patients they caricature and reject.""
"Imagine going through the intake process, answering all of those difficult questions. Getting set up with an appointment. Having hope that finally you're getting the help you so desperately need and then being told they "feel uncomfortable working with you"."
