"The fact that this location has been known for YEARS to NOT ANSWER THE PHONE is insane. December 2023 and they still don’t answer."
"Honestly, I always have a bad experience here. - Not enough staff to do basic tasks like answering the phone or calling back in a reasonable amount of time or at all for that matter. Stop OVERBOOKING, right now is cold/flu season and this office doesn’t have any rules on what family is allowed and how many people for each child/birthing person can come with them and there are not enough chairs to sustain. - Why is some random staff member who’s credentials is not posted anywhere DRAWING BLOOD from these kids. No proper ppe, and she couldn’t even put on a band-aid correctly for my child?!?! - The staff go above and beyond to get there Hispanic/ Latin patients in and out of the office ———> I arrived on time for my appt 10am I counted 8 families that came in after me and my child that came in for the nutritionist *Same Thing I was coming in for* but my child and I were the last people in the waiting area. After waiting an hour and a half, my child and I left for obvious reasons then the nutritionist call back about 20 minutes later after we already left to have a 38 SECOND CONVERSATION, bringing our benefits back. How does that make sense??? Why would I ever come back and waste so much time to get the same message across in 38 SECONDS. This office needs to put in a better effort for their Black/African/ Haitian families because we need the the same exact help that the other families need but needless to say we are always pushed to the background. I truly hope that this office gets the help it needs but overall it’s 1 star service for this office. Which is probably one of the heaviest populated offices in the Newark area and we can’t go to a different office to get the same service there’s a lot of work that need to be done to have this government funded program working seamlessly."
"I came to visit the new office this week, and at first my appointment was rocky due to my own knowledge of location. But the receptionist Heldiana made sure I was seen, she was very nice and encouraging. I was having a hard day, but she helped brighten it. This office is very clean and the whole staff was very nice, everyone greeted my child with warms smiles and hello’s. We also was in and out very quickly. I recommend coming here to receive your WIC."
"They cut my child off & won't answer the phone! They're extremely rude & don't care about the kids! The front desk guy must be reported! I have been calling them since the past 3mos straight no response!"
"AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE ! I want to give a huge shoutout to Boris,Mariam, and Krysta. They made my experience a positive one and I am soul grateful ! I never imagine that I would need to use state services but I found myself needing help and was directed to the WIC program. I called almost every Wic office in my area and could not get a single person to call back , e-mail back , nothing no communication at all after leaving voicemails on every number available. I finally found the Rutgers Wic office number and left a voicemail. I was contacted the very next day by Boris. He was extremely patient and kind to me even though I was a little skeptical because it was a text message service they are now using. He called me on the phone right away to confirm he is an employee and that the program is now electronic. He never once gave me an attitude or wasn’t annoyed at me at all. He got my information processed in a timely fashion and for that I am grateful. My appointment was set and I came into the office. From the arrival everyone was still very kind and I saw Boris and thanked him. Mariam the breastfeeding specialist took her time and explained every single detail to me and encouraged me to breastfeed and let me know she is a resource and will help along the way. Krysta a ray of sunshine her personality is so bubbly and friendly. She also was able to keep me encouraged and answered all of my questions and empowered me when it comes to my health resources upon resources were provided. I didn’t feel embarrassed or ashamed for needing help. The fact that everyone treated me with respect and kindness I was blown away. And I know that this isn’t something to be praised but something we should expect. However unfortunately programs like this are not known to be the most friendly places. I thank Rutgers Newark office for making this process seamless and informative for me."
