"I needed some gloves because It was freezing and they had them. Thank you."
"I was a Walgreens pharmacy technician, and traveled through multiple states. I also left Walgreens to work for a PBM, and now a drug manufacturer. There is something to be said about a pharmacy staff whose is incapable of navigating their own system. And don’t get me wrong it is a learning curve, but let me teach everyone something so they can advocate for their care with non-controlled substances. Walgreens knows that their Express pay and delivery system is faulty. At the corporate level, they will continue to refer you to the store itself because there is a system where techs/pharmacy managers can: 1. Refund payments at the POS (you cannot be a manager without this capability) 2. Open the shipping tool (like they do everyday to process labels, print them and get them ready for delivery) and print manual labels adhering to the patients profile. It is a relatively quick process, meaning you could spend 10 minutes on the phone with a patient or 2 minutes with a competent tech who can have it printed and bagged and move on which their day. I’ve worked in some of the busiest stores, the job is hard but in all of my years I have never turned down a patients access to care without at least trying. And that is what I witnessed with this staffs multiple interactions with a patient. From the east to west coast, poverty stricken to affluent areas I’ve worked alongside many Walgreens staffs and I can tell the level of care that they have for their patients. And talking to multiple people and the pharmacy manager without any of them knowing or willing to fix that simple and quick issue is a problem. No pharmacy manager I have ever worked with didn’t know how to bypass that glitch because it is a store level issue. And trust if they had the time to even answer the phones their load isn’t that bad to where they can’t print a shipping label. I truly feel bad for the district they serve because even when my pharmacy was half an operable staff and stalled due to COVID, we worked our best to find system to help our patients find care even if it meant recommending another location to provide their needs. I am really happy that I no longer have to accept the absolute lack of care, compassion and empathy that pharmacy staffs like this exhibit. It was to much to be the change in Walgreens selfish culture so I left."
