Reviews of Walgreens Pharmacy
"They are always very friendly and concerned for your health and happiness. Great app to submit prescriptions and receive notifications. When you get on their call list, they call repeatedly. Not open 24 hours. (Reason for the 4 stars versus 5)"
"The people that work here are very pointedly unfriendly."
"Great female pharmacist and staff. Had issues with male pharmacist because he misread my prescription and would not waiver when I pick up on the same day each month according to the way my script is written. He needs more training. My physician even called and stated to fill it. Also, they should keep constant stock of generic Suboxone strips (8/2mg - 70ct) and that’s for one patient and they have multiple patients at this location. They know this every month and half of the time there’s have to order them when they are needed and due for refill every 28 days, as written."
"NEVER come to this pharmacy. The representative was a racist, the assistant behaved unprofessional, and the company turned a blind eye on my complaint. Few weeks ago I came to the store with my boyfriend and showed the assistant my reservation email, passport and insurance card for COVID booster. Although I have provided all my information online- name, address, insurance, phone number…, the assistant still asked me if I was a US resident. I was not sure if she was referring to permanent resident so I said no. She said, "very sorry, we cannot provide you the vaccine." I then asked for clarification and she asked if we live here. I said yes and provided her with the proof as she asked-my bank statement. She turned to the representative and showed her the proof, but came back with the response that "we pharmacies only provide COVID vaccines for PERMANENT resident", and emphasized on my "Chinese passport" (She said that I need to have a US passport or something else). She suggested me to go to the nearby clinic Mi-doctor, so we went out, but found that they didn't have Pfizer that day (but their attitudes were so much better!) It disappointed me because I was pretty busy during those days. I then had lunch nearby, but ridiculously found on social media that some other international students got COVID booster at Walgreens successfully, so we turned back about one hour later and asked how it happened. The assistant turned to the representative again, but the answer was the same: "we have different policies around the country, and for NYS, it's only for PERMANENT residents." My boyfriend asked her to show us the policy and she said it may be "somewhere" on the website. I then told her the successful case I mentioned was also in NYC. She talked to the representative and told us her response: “She said she has THROWN AWAY the last vaccine". We were angry and asked what did she mean. The assistant explained that she didn't really "throw" the vaccine but gave it to another patient who had appointment after me. (You can infer how disrespectful and arrogant her original words were, which finally irritated me.) The assistant then suggested us to talk to the representative directly. The representative, without any regret on misleading us and wasting our time, told us we should have told her at first that we live here, we are students here, and the conversation happened between us and the assistant so she didn't know what happened. But the truth is, the assistant DID show her the address proof, and what more do we need to prove that we are eligible for her divine, permanent residents-only vaccine? I don't know. She then said we could take the vaccine- make appointment again or just go to Mi-doctor, but not talking to her. I said I could get booster later but I was angry about her attitude. "I don't have an attitude", that's all she told us. I have reported this unpleasant experience on their official site, but 20 days passed, no one ever sends anything back. I guess it’s just their corporate culture. Again, don’t come to this place."
