"I’ve been here twice before. The music is good and the atmosphere is okay, very sceney which is typical of NYC. Drinks are priced as expected, on pricier side. Bouncer and entrance staff have always had an attitude especially towards minorities and men, not sure why but it reeks of racism and discrimination. Go elsewhere to spend your hard earned money"
"I recently visited the Virgo club in Manhattan and had a terrible experience with their security at the door. Despite having tickets, one of the doormen inexplicably refused to let me enter. When I asked for an explanation, he simply stated that he didn't like me. I was warned by friends about the security when I told them I would be attending. This was my first visit to the venue, and surely my last. I strongly advise choosing Somewhere / Nowhere instead if you're looking for a venue in Manhattan. Stay far away from the Virgo club."
"I go very often to Virgo. I simply love the ambience, the music and the drinks. The security guards are super courteous and the bartenders, specially Tyler, are amazing. I had a very bad experience though last Saturday. Always the bathroom line has jumpers and finally there’s a security there. Well, he was failing on his job as I was threatened by a client that with his girlfriend I call the attention for jumping the line. I thought calling the security responsible for the line would solve the problem quickly. I ended receiving a lecture from the security. The client, a boy, show me the middle finger and coursed me in front of the guard a lot, as I am a man and former professional fighter I maintained the correlative respect and calm. The boy, despite the panic of his girlfriend, continued his attitude and the security didn’t send him to the end of the line as should be from the start or expelled him from the club. I recommend the club check again the orientations regarding jumpers at the restroom line. I left the club and hardly I will come back. Anyways, thanks for all the amazing moments that I had there. Good luck always."
"Bought tickets for a DJ for 8 of us. Apparently the website switched it to the VIP table service. We explained the mistake when we arrived at the club and the worker responded with “non refundable.” Yay! After trying to decide whether we go in or waste 400 dollars, it was explained that on top of the entry tickets, we have to spend $1K worth of drinks too. Still decided to pursue this nightmare with the assumption that we have to be able to get drunk with $1K worth of alcohol. Enter the club! Find our tiny table that can sit 4 out of our 8 people with our glorious menu. The cheapest bottle of liquor they had was $500… pretty sure it was Tito’s Vodka. 500 dollars. $500. By the end of the night, i managed to get a solid buzz on. With the buzz on, it’s time to hit the dance floor. Vibe of the people was amazing. They played tech house the whole time but it was good with the atmosphere. Then it started to feel like 100… 110 degrees in there. As i looked around, there was no ventilation and no fans. I wondered why it felt like it was getting hard to breathe. No worries though the club noticed the lack of oxygen and proceeded to burn incense, sparklers for every bottle purchased, and blasted CO2. After my lungs started to feel heavy, it’s time to leave… With our 2 bottles and 2 buckets of beers purchased, i left the club with a $1500 receipt. To break it down: they charge you 50 a person for a VIP table, make you pay a 1000 dollar minimum on drinks, they add a 20% group fee to that ($200), can’t forget taxes, and apparently added the 70 tip that i signed for. Total cost for a cushion and 4 shots: $1900. This was during the cancellation of day one EZoo. They definitely fit the experience of that weekend: frauds. Would never go back."
"Don't expect to go inside if you're wearing shorts. Typical Manhattan behavior. Places like this are what's wrong with dance culture. More about bottle service than the music more about looking expensive then actually providing a good atmosphere. If this is your thing go for if not I'd find a new place to party."
