"There are no words…except perhaps two: highway robbery. Came here for a private event and was appalled at the prices. A single cocktail for $30. Automatic 20% gratuity and 5% admin fee. Admin? For mixing a whisper of gin with a full glass of tonic water? Preposterous. Put my coat in coat check so as not to risk sullying the ambience - this is a $30 per drink venue after all - and was surprised upon leaving to discover coat check would cost me a whopping $10. No mention upon the initial coat drop off. The attendant, while sympathetic to my astonishment, naturally expected compensation. All in all, $40 for a single drink and a coat hanger? Truly a drag on what was otherwise a lovely evening. Avoid."

"If I could give this place 0 stars I would. One of the worst places I’ve EVER been in NYC and I’ve lived here for 8 years…lol I’ve been to a lot of places. The staff was horrid, terribly trained, and just plain disrespectful. One of the bottle girls pushed me WITH FORCE to get through and somehow shortly after I was escorted out into 30 degree weather WITHOUT my jacket. Mind you I was one of the ONLY brown skin people in the entire establishment at the time so at best all I can say about this place is that it’s RACIST and will NEVER get my business again. Best of luck to this disgusting establishment."

Portions are generous and prices are fair. The vibrant, artsy decor and patio seating lend a real sense of place. The bartenders are so friendly, making killer margaritas that complement the flavors perfectly. Whether you're looking for a lively night out in a gorgeous setting or a casual meal with superb vegetarian fare, La Victoria is a true standout. I tell all my friends they must try this gem.
