"I came into the ER on 1/17 and ER doc confirmed a broken left wrist & broken left ankle. I was sent home with a walker (which I physically couldn’t use) because ER doc figured crutches didn’t make sense. I returned, by ambulance, on 1/20 at which time I was admitted for a week before being transported to Pine Run rehabilitation facility. The Physician’s Assistant in the ER (her name began with an “M”…..maybe Maddie) was extremely young and couldn’t understand why someone could have difficulty pulling up to a standing position on their right leg (I’m about to turn 60 and my left side is immobile due to broken bones). She asked me what would change if I were to be admitted. I feel as though this position is not suitable for her. I also am a very firm believer that the hospital should never refer anyone to Pine Run. I have been here just over a week, and other than PT & OT, it has been extremely frustrating & the care is unacceptable. I have waited over 2 hours for my call bell to be acknowledged (even shouted from my bed, which I am confined to unless I have assistance to a wheelchair, to the nurse & CRN’s that I could hear in the hall just outside of my room…they were conversing about just how much they disliked their jobs), waited from 10am until 8:20 pm for Tylenol (despite asking 3 or 4 different CRN’s several times throughout the day), been told that a urine soaked bed pad & wheelchair seat was okay and that I could get everything cleaned up when someone administered my shower (which occurred 12 hours later)……this is just a partial list of the issues I’ve had at Pine Run rehabilitation facility. PLEASE stop referring patients to this facility. It obviously isn’t what it used to be prior to them being sold in the Fall. They were owned by the hospital until the transfer of ownership in the Fall."
"I had sharp, horrible head and neck pain, something I have never experienced before. I drove myself to the ER on Christmas eve and it took 2 hours to be called. Once in the room, 4 hours there just to be told I had migraine or tension headache. They did not bother to test me for anything else despite my complaints. I go home at 4 am and have been running around 103-104 temperature all day. My neck is stiff, I have zero energy and didn’t leave my bed. I called to ask how busy they were today and received a - full. We are full in the front and full in the back. I am scared to see our healthcare and how providers just blow you off because they are overwhelmed. I am not going back there. They should have done their job as I sat there for 6 hours. I’m super disappointed and scared that I might have something that requires immediate attention."
"My advice: avoid visiting that hospital unless it's an absolute emergency and you are dying. The ER doctors lack sufficient knowledge, bedside manner, and even refuse to engage in discussions about the patient's condition. They seem too busy documenting rather than dedicating time to speak to the patient . Recently, my wife experienced severe RLQ pain. Despite physical examinations suggesting acute appendicitis, the CT scan showed nothing. Shockingly, the ER visit summary merely recommended switching to a gluten-free diet - a funny suggestion considering my wife's carnivorous diet . Honestly it’s not worth going there , if you’re experiencing real emergency don’t go to that hospital , ER doctors are a mess . GO TO PHILLY and forget about this hospital ."
"I took my son to the ER on a Sunday morning. The hospital was clean. We went straight to triage followed directly by X-ray. The nurse that took care of him was a ray of sunshine! You could tell she loved what she did. Thanks K.I. for making a difficult morning a lot easier!"
"The level of genuine compassion, kindness and empathy from every single employee I have encountered is far beyond my expectations. You should be very proud of the community of caregivers you have working for you. You have turned a not so pleasant experience into the best possible care. Thank you!! Also if you are a patient or a visitor I highly recommend the Artwalk which is open from 530am-7pm daily. It is a nice showing of local artists and gives some more joy to the hospital atmosphere. There is also an arboretum surrounding the hospital."
